Add up the score for each section and read what the score suggests about your
results. The scores are:
Low score: 0 – 10
Medium score: 11 – 20
High score: 21 - 30
Feedback:
Low score: 0 – 10
A low score suggests that you may lack confidence and experience to engage
critically in an academic setting including seeking and evaluating information. At
times, your judgments may be more influenced by your personal experiences than
evidence. In Week 2, you will have the opportunity to explore some of these
challenges further and consider strategies to help you develop your confidence and
ability to engage critically at university.
Medium score: 11 – 20
A medium score suggests you are fairly confident at finding and evaluating
information and don't tend to accept what you see or hear at face value. You usually
seek evidence to help inform your thinking. You may sometimes feel unsure about
assessing evidence and applying critical thinking in an academic context. In Week 2,
you will have the opportunity to explore some of these challenges further and
consider strategies to help you develop your confidence and ability to engage
critically at university.
High score: 21-30
A high score suggests you are confident at finding and evaluating information and
applying this in an academic setting. You actively seek evidence to inform and shape
your thinking rather than just relying on your personal experiences and are willing to
challenge others. There is always room for improvement. In Week 2, you will have
the opportunity to help you develop further.
