The traditional route to rendering 3D
animation can involve anything from a few
hours to a couple of days for more complex
sequences. Muvizu’s Unreal Games Engine 3
powered app totally trumps this by rendering
in a tiny fraction of this time.
The same engine is used in games like
Bioshock, Batman and Gears of War.

Toon shading is a cool tool in Muvizu
which not a lot of people know about –
the ‘environment’ editing tool allows you
to change the style of Muvizu completely
and gives a more bubbly/comic book look
with hard outlines and increased shading.

Regular Muvizuers will be familiar with the
long list of actions that bring the characters
to life. When the latest character Rosie was
added earlier in 2013 these actions were
made even more life-like through
performance by the Muvizu artists
themselves. The animators used an Xbox
Kinect to record the actions which were then
applied to all the ‘human’ Muvizu characters’
movements.

‘The Lighthouse’
building in Glasgow
where the Muvizu team
is based was designed
by the world famous
architect Charles Rennie
Mackintosh in 1895. It
was his very first public
commission.

Users can upgrade their Muvizu experience
through purchasing a Muvizu:Play+ licence
allowing them to create unlimited HD
content with full rights and to import objects
and attach them to their characters.

edit frame-by-frame.

pedigrees in the Muvizu/Digimania
team – a handful of ex-Disney and BBC
creatives, one of the art team draws

book and three of the team regularly
