This document proposes a new system for elections using big data analytics to address issues with the current ballot system. The system would use mobile phones and fingerprint sensors to allow people to securely vote via SMS. Big data would be used to quickly process and analyze the large amount of voting data. This new system aims to increase voter turnout to 100% by making it more convenient to vote without taking time off work or needing to visit a polling place. The document outlines the technical details of how the system would integrate mobile devices, embedded systems, and big data to securely collect and count votes via SMS in real-time.

2. BIG DATA
Big data is nothing but a revolution made over the data mining and
warehousing concepts.
It is mainly focused on processing huge amount of data and predictive
analysis of the statistics.
5 V’s are to be satisfied to prove a solution that , it is suitable for Big data.
In our solution we satisfy 3 v’s as values, varities and velocity.
Calculating of unstructured data in a divide and conquer (Map and reduce)
method makes the process easier.
3. PROBLEM AT HAND
Voting is the Birth Right given to an individual who attains the age of 18
capable of choosing a better Government. As many eligible individuals are
not able to register their votes due to many reason including senior
citizens and people from remote area, the result of overall percentage of
vote that had been registered does not reach 100% and there is delay in
the result.
During Election Day government declares it as a holiday for all government
and private institutions, where this leads to loss of economy to the MNC’s
companies that work for other country projects and so many engineers
working there and not able to caste their votes. If the company is working
without accepting the holiday ordered by Government, then that company
is being fined up to lakhs of amount. If the employee of company is taking
leave on the Election Day then that employee will have a loss of pay.
4. To enhance the participation and obtain cent percentage of votes for
present electoral system, our solution provides security via SMS and
FINGER LOC SENSOR using mobile. Finally the predictive analysis is done
using Big Data.
The following reasons that lead to the drawbacks of existing Ballot system
are lack of votes casted by senior citizen, transportation of Ballot
machine, The postal votes which are applicable only for Government
employees are not evaluated properly, If the MNC’S are working without
accepting the holiday declared by Government, then the company is being
fined up to lakhs of amount ,and If the employee of the company taking
leave on that day then they are imposed with loss of pay.
5. SOLUTION
It address the theme by using four(4) constraints which comprises of user
ID, Password, voter ID and finger print, this can be successfully achieved
using LIVE SCAN and FINGER LOC SENSOR techniques .
The technologies used are Embedded system, Mobile Computing and Big
data.
Mobile and Embedded system are interfaced using GSM.
Embedded system and Big Data are interfaced using the RS-232.
Big Data is used for the predictive analysis of the casted vote and produce
the result quickly.
6. The finger print is done by FINGER LOC SENSOR which has few patterns,
minutia for checking whether ridges belong to the same individual done
with the help of LIVE SCAN technique which comes under embedded
circuit. The finger print is said to be valid when the ridges of the finger
are examined till the saline layer and it matches with the ridges that is
stored in the server. The scanned votes would be processed and shall be
transferred via secured channels and finally sent out to the respective
server (vote storing destination) in an encrypted format so as to maintain
confidentiality.

8. RESULT OF THE SOLUTION
A new self-governing voting solution.
Everyone can vote without any annoyance in their day to day life.
Voting is not prejudiced by anybody.
Voting is discrete.
The Voting Process be fixed.
A new better / democratic voting process be followed.
The trial will provide basis for the electoral reforms.
Many government employees need not be recruited thus leads to increase in good
economy of the government.
Fake voting can be avoided.
Highly secured.
User friendly system.
100% votes will be registered.
Very economical.
Information is the much-valued thing and it needs at the right time by the right way
and by the right approach.
Our effort lies in reducing the cost, error and malpractices in the process of voting.
9. Trends
• Mobile computing
• Embedded Systems
• FINGER LOC SENSOR and LIVE SCAN technique
• Big Data Technology
Big Data will make a very big impact in next five years as per the SMS
voting we have taken ,using this big data we can process huge data specially
the unstructured data and produce result quickly .It can be used for the
predictive analytics.
10. Interest Areas
Our interested area is Big Data and embedded as we have done a working
model based on it as a team and shortlisted as prefinalists in Unisys (U.S)
based company.
We are also interested in designing web pages, using HTML and CSS
programs.
