Rail Car Services and repair for North American Freight Rail.
Vice President: Process
Championed Process development, implementation and sustainability at Harbor Rail services’ largest, and newest
facility the UPRR Kinney County Rail Port, TX. The Kinney County Rail port was built to serve cross border traffic
and support the importation of products from Constellation Brewery. Focused on Processes to ensure consistent
and sustainable excellence for our customer and to grow the business.
Processes implemented ranged from the work instruction definition, to the billing and finance processes used.
Implementation of these processes turned the business around and into a sustainable revenue center for both
Harbor Rail Services and the Union Pacific Rail Road. I drove achievement of the strategic objective, conducted
customer meetings. Administered resource allocation for budget, staffing levels, and operations providing enhanced
value to customer while performing services on budget with targeted revenues.
Achievements:
 State of Production:
o Upon my arrival, Production was unable to produce more than 15 cars a day
o Today the capacity is at 120 Cars per day, with the ability to support the expected growth to up to
200 cars per day.
 State of Quality:
o Upon my arrival, the reject rate on box cars sent to Constellation brewery was 26%
o The month of March has a rejection rate of less than 1/2 percent.
 State of Finance
o Upon my arrival, the business was losing $10K per day. Expenses far exceeding revenue.
o Today, The business is profiting $19K+ per day
My Actions taken to right the ship:
 Ensure we had properly trained staff and implemented Team concept with specific people trained on their
role and how it aligned to the overall goal achievement.
 Right sizing the staff: Keeping the best folks and assembling 4 groups of 14 people assigned two per repair
cart.
 Defined processes to consistently deliver the production level at high quality.

 Tracked, and retrained staff on the rejects and implemented corrective action on the top 5 defects,
continuing the process until the Reject rate is what is currently reflected. It is an on-going process that will
only continue to improve the quality of the cars output.
Delivered $3.1M in savings by the actions taken as defined above.
BOMBARDIER TRANSPORTATION, Las Vegas, Nevada  07/2014 – 04/2015
World's leading transportation manufacturer of planes and trains.
Director
Captained Maintenance and Operation Services for Las Vegas Monorail System including reviewing previous
activity identifying, documenting, and resolving issues causing train delays, customer dissatisfaction, or Ridership
concerns. Served as primary interface with Las Vegas Monorail Company bolstering achievement of strategic
objectives, conducted customer meetings, and ensured material requirements of monorail trains and system.
Reviewed inventory utilization weekly overseeing appropriate stock levels and disposition of non-use items,
managed Profit & Loss tracking, and promoted benefits of Monorail supporting expansion of Las Vegas system.
Administered resource allocation for budget, staffing levels, and operations providing enhanced value to customer
while performing services on budget with targeted revenues.
Achievements:
 Boosted ridership and revenues 11% or $1.1M over previous year, through implementation of cultural change
focused on embracing empowerment of employees.

 Delivered $92k in savings driving margins to 18% by revising Collector Shoe / Guide rail orientation for
utilization of more surface area through evaluation, identification, and revision of three main cost drivers of
monorail maintenance expense: Collector Shoes, Tires, and Control Card repair costs.
FAIVELEY TRANSPORT, Roanoke and Salem Virginia, 09/2011 – 03/2014
An international manufacturer and supplier of equipment for the Railway Industry founded in 1919. The company
has subsidiaries in more than 24 countries.
VISTA CORPORATION (Division of FAIVELEY TRANSPORT), Roanoke, Virginia 
Re-manufacturer of locomotive engines and supporting locomotive accessory equipment for Faiveley Transport
providing systems and sub-systems for the Passenger Transportation industry.
Director – Vista Operations
Oversaw operations including budget, P&L, staffing and business performance. Assessed and implemented
changes transforming existing operation into viable business entity for Faiveley Transport. Performed daily review
of production status and identified issues potentially impeding delivery of deliver high quality product on-time and
within budget. Rolled out inventory control practices, work tracking documentation, reorganization, and
implementation of 5S methodology.
Achievements:
 Yielded 51% revenue increase equaling $352k within first month of implementation of new business model and
production schedule, as well as flattening organization improving flow on shop floor and gaining employee

Spearheaded North American aftermarket sales group developing Sales budget, defining staffing requirements,
and establishing expectations for business performance. Handle task delegation and performance management of
5 Sales Representatives focused on primary Class One Railroads and major regional railroads. Executed weekly
reviews with each of Representative gauging progress against business plan. Identified and remediated budget
discrepancies, mitigated customer issues, and performed sales forecasting.

 Enhanced sales performance 15% through utilization of historical sales data for anticipation of variances based
on customer changes.
 Increased sales to Union Pacific, $4.2M to $6.2M and Norfolk Southern 4.4M to $6.7M through review of key

Leading manufacture of in Multi GenSet and Hybrid locomotives.
Vice President of Strategic Planning and Technology  Railpower 
Led full rail side of business including customer communication on in-service locomotive base, driving rapid
resolution of issues. Served as primary spokesperson representing technology and innovation of locomotives within
conservative industry, reluctant to change. Collaborated with my sales and emissions team obtaining Federal
Funding under Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality act (CMAQ) for sale of locomotives.
Achievements:
 Delivered key contributions to Merger and Acquisition activity throughout economic downturn by serving as key
interface with RJ Corman President and Owner transitioning Railpower Hybrid Technologies into RJCorman
Railroad Group including revamping organization and budget aligning expenses with sales revenue, as well as
integrating new ERP system for inventory control and achieving completing full compliance with RJ Corman
Group business practices and protocol within 6 months.
 Improved production on-time delivery from 22% to 98% by implementing Program management tracking and
handling definition of Railpower product line.
 Integral Driver in producing 24 Locomotives sold ($36M) in 2010.

Created and launched business plan for Sales and Marketing Department including targeting potential customers,
identifying requirements for success in EPA, Air Quality Non-attainment zone, and within state working closely with

 Reduced overall engineering hours 17% through implementation of clear delineation of roles and
responsibilities between Systems Engineering group and other Engineering teams ensuring Lean approach.
 Slashed customer complaints relating to “Test Bed” by collaborating with customer on revision of product
development process ensuring completion and verification of specifications.

The Kinney County Rail port was built to serve cross border traffic and support the importation of products from Constellation Brewery. Processes implemented ranged from the work instruction definition, to the billing and finance processes used. Implementation of these processes turned the business around and into a sustainable revenue center for both Harbor Rail Services and the Union Pacific Rail Road. Administered resource allocation for budget, staffing levels, and operations providing enhanced value to customer while performing services on budget with targeted revenues. Achievements:  State of Production: o Upon my arrival, Production was unable to produce more than 15 cars a day o Today the capacity is at 120 Cars per day, with the ability to support the expected growth to up to 200 cars per day.  State of Quality: o Upon my arrival, the reject rate on box cars sent to Constellation brewery was 26% o The month of March has a rejection rate of less than 1/2 percent.  State of Finance o Upon my arrival, the business was losing $10K per day. Director Captained Maintenance and Operation Services for Las Vegas Monorail System including reviewing previous activity identifying, documenting, and resolving issues causing train delays, customer dissatisfaction, or Ridership concerns. Served as primary interface with Las Vegas Monorail Company bolstering achievement of strategic objectives, conducted customer meetings, and ensured material requirements of monorail trains and system. VISTA CORPORATION (Division of FAIVELEY TRANSPORT), Roanoke, Virginia  Re-manufacturer of locomotive engines and supporting locomotive accessory equipment for Faiveley Transport providing systems and sub-systems for the Passenger Transportation industry.
