1. VCPE CONFERENCE 2022 1
WELCOME
Distinguished Guests:
Thank you for joining us at the 28th annual Venture Capital Private Equity Conference at Harvard Business School.
We are honored to help carry on the tradition of thought leadership and innovation that the conference embodies.
While the conference has started from humble origins, it is today one of the largest and most anticipated stu-
dent-run conferences in the country, with industry professionals, students, alumni, and faculty coming together to
discuss the most pressing issues facing the alternative investing industry.
The conference team is thrilled to provide a platform for professionals and students to hear from and interact with
some of the industry’s most revered leaders. From the student perspective, we believe these interactions will equip
all of us with the tools to succeed as we are about to embark on our own careers.
As in prior years, the conference will feature a wide array of keynote speeches and panel discussions. This year’s
conference, while continuing long-running favorite panels such as State of Private Equity and State of Venture
Capital, has also identified new industry trends and shaped the agenda accordingly. Our Portfolio Operations and
Climate panels cover topics of ever-increasing importance in the alternative investing industry today, while Invest-
ing in Inclusive Economies, EdTech and the Future of Work, India, and LatAm are getting at the essence of what’s
shaping the world tomorrow.
The team has strived to embody diversity not as a separate topic, but throughout our representation in panels and
keynote speakers. We view diversity holistically, including both gender, race, and sexual orientation, as well as
background and geography. We believe that this emphasis further enriches the conference experience and invites
conversation on how the industry can advance equity.
After a prolonged pause to in person events due to the pandemic, we would like to give a warm thank you to our
speakers for venturing out to a chilly Boston in February. We are immensely grateful for their enthusiasm and
generosity. Their willingness to join us and to help brainstorm the most relevant discussion topics has touched us
deeply, and has given us a vivid example of what true leadership looks like.
We would be remiss if we did not call out the hard work and dedication of our conference team. Having worked on
the conference for a second year in a row, we are proud of the passion, enthusiasm and drive that has permeated
the team this year.
