2. Socio Economic Group
Our socio economic group will be aimed at group E
mainly. This is because those in group E, will have a
better understanding and interest in our film unlike
those in the higher groups. This is because they are
able to relate to school life, it will give them
reminiscence and perhaps what the film entails may
occur or have occurred in their own past of present
academic lives. So they will have a sense of
sympathy, if anything out of the ordinary has took
place in their time at school. And so I feel we should
target this group most, as they are most likely able to
appreciate the narrative of the film.
3. Our Target Age Range
Our age range is from 16-19
year olds, mainly because of
the progression from GCSE’s
to A levels and leaving school
at the late age of 19. This
targeted group would have a
better and tighter grasp at the
film and would find it to be
more appealing because they
can relate and therefore enjoy
the film better. They can
understand the scenario Olivia
is under thus leaving them
with wanting more.
4. Targeted Gender
We aim to target both the
male and female gender
because although the main
character is female, she
has encounters with the
male boyfriend. Therefore
all females and males can
relate to the relationship
Olivia is in.
5. Our BBFC
Our film’s BBFC is 12A.
The reason being that there is no
sexual encounters, no nudity and
as a result it is a fun family film
that all members of a family can
watch.
However, the restriction to the age
of 12 was discussed because of
the scene with the Jock and the
girls surrounding him, giving the
wrong impression to some
parents. And the romance scene
when Olivia is heartbroken by her
boyfriend. Conclusively, we
resulted with the decision to stick
with 12A
