popularity after they were accidentally
paired on the July 16, 2015 episode of the
Problem Solving portion of "Juan for All, All
for Juan" which later became the first
episode of Kalyeserye. AlDub is derived
from a portmanteau of the tandem's
character names in Kalyeserye, namely
Filipino actor Alden Richards, who portrays
a fictionalized version of himself, and Yaya
Dub .
