3. The idea
• A boy experiencing hurt and pain from a
recent break up.
• We will show this through contemporary
dance in an urban city/subway/warehouse
• Using flowers that will grow through out
the video to show as a metaphor as his
emotional change through out the video.
• A performance by a band will be done in a
studio set up with low and aesthetically
pleasing lighting.
• Using a creative link with ink and water to
create smart and unique visual effects.
4. The point we want to get across - narrative
Purity and patience.
• The lotus flower is grown
from a dark and muddy
place but turns out to be a
beautiful unique flower.
• Purity and patience is
juxtaposed though the
video because it starts off
with anger and sadness
but at the end It finishes
with purity and patience.
• Post relationship break up, he is sad, angry,
emotional. (shown through his dancing)
• While the flower is growing he is growing
along side it with strength.
• At the end we see his dancing is kind and
joyful – expressing his new emotion. (patient)
5. The Choreography
• One male dance who the narrative is about. He
will be doing contemporary dance that
screams out emotions and that is easy for the
audience to understand.
• Justin Bieber – love yourself
This used contemporary dance that works along
side the lyrics. Ours wouldn’t be this similar but
the use of movement is be recognized.

• Radiohead – Lotus Flower
Uses a warehouse for location which we want to
consider for our dance piece. His contemporary
dancing also explains the emotion along side the
lyrics. - similar to this but different as it will be
relating with the song.

6. The Art Direction
• The dancing to be on location –
warehouse, urban scenery, subway. The
location will also show a bit about him
and dancing in location will give more to
the story.
• Performance in the studio by the band in
low key lighting, aesthetically pleasing
but also will a quirky twist. Using
projections on the band that works with
the video and its narrative. These photos
are jut showing examples of the
projections and how we’d like them to
look – this would be projected on the
band though and different images.
7. The Wardrobe
• The main dancer to be in baggy
shirt and joggers. Something he’ll
be able to dance in
• The band member to have an
“organic” look. Wearing quite
quirky and vintage styled clothing.
We don’t want the band to look
“dolled” up.
8. The Look
• The dancing part to be natural
light - using the available light
around you.
• The studio to be quite dark and
low lit but with colourful aspects
around it – from the projections.
9. Emotion.
• There will be quite a lot of
emotion through this piece.
The narrative is about how
this male figure has been
through a lot and needs a
recovery.
• His dancing will show this.
