• When you want to express the idea of trying
something out, you literally say I will do it and see
• You don’t use ~てみる to express the idea of
putting effort into something
• You would not use ~てみる to say I will try hard or
I am going to try to get a good mark
• For these, you can use the volitional form (しようと
思います)or つもりです(するつもりです) (L31)
• You only use ~てみる if you are going to try
something to see what it is like (so in a way, you
are testing it out – having a go at something)

whose answer the listener might be uncertain of
or whose answer the listener is sure to be able
to give.
• This can also make a question more polite.

• When you add します to やすい、にくい、
you make something easy/hard.
• くらいところでは、本を読みにくくします
• When you add なりますto やすい、にくい、
some other factor make something
