• When you quote someone’s utterance
indirectly, you need to use the plain form.
ミラーさんは、来週東京へ出張すると言いました。

• The particle に is used to indicate the
person spoken to.
かなこさんは、ミラーさんにイギリスに留学したい
と言いました。

7. ~でしょう?
• ~でしょう? is used when the speaker is seeking
agreement or confirmation from the listener.
• でしょう is said with a rising intonation to confirm
the listener’s agreement.

• When N2 expresses such events as a party,
concert, festival, incident, disaster and so on, あ
ります means ‘to take place’ or ‘to be held’

• でも is used to give an example out of
things of the same kind when someone
encourages or advises someone to do
something or when someone makes a
suggestion.

• This expression is made by omitting いけま
せん from ないform.
• ないform+といけませんis similar to ない
form+なければなりません
