Example of short story

1. “You will always be my comfort,” I said while looking at the beautiful sunset. It feels
great to stop by and see this wonderful creation. I breathe deeply and continued my journey.
When I arrived at my destination, everyone are already busy.
“Everything’s set inside, go take a look Sam,” Jasmin said.
I am an event organizer and right now, my team’s preparing for an exclusive event that
will take place in an hour. “Thanks Jas!” I exclaimed and immediately went inside the hotel. I
smiled upon looking at the beautiful scenery made by my team. They never fail to amaze me.
As I wander around the venue, I saw a familiar name and smiled bitterly as I remenisce
the days I spent with him.
It was summer when I decided to go to Cebu. I wanted to relax and breathe a little before
starting to step out of my comfort zone. I was having the best times of my life just roaming
around the city and of course the beaches. Until I bumped into someone who’s very much
unfamiliar to me.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t see you,” he said.
“It’s fine, but please be careful next time,” I replied and continued to my room to rest.
I woke up to the sound of my alarm, it’s now 5 in the afternoon. I hurriedly change my
clothes and went outside since I wanted to watch the sunset. It will always be my favorite time of
the day.
“Beautiful,” the only word I said after seeing it.
“It is indeed beautiful,” I heard someone said and immediately, I look at his direction. To
my surprise, it was the same person I bumped into before!
“Do you also love sunsets?” he asked that made me smile.
“It’s my comfort. Just by looking at it, everything feels calm,” I replied.

2. “I love sunsets too. It always remind me to rest. It gives me an opportunity to take a
breathe after a stressful day,” he said while capturing the sunset.
I just smiled at him and continued looking at the beautiful scenery.
“When did you start being in love with sunsets?” he asked.
“I don’t know, I just feel like I love watching it,” I said while smiling. He then suddenly
gave his camera to me while saying, “I’ve been touring around most of the time. I’ve gathered
plenty of pictures of the sunset, you can look at them.”
Looking at the pictures, it feels like I was able to see them personally. They are beautiful.
No words can describe how inlove I am with sunsets. While scanning the pictures, a certain
photo caught my attention. It’s a picture of me while I was mesmerized by the sunset, suddenly it
made me smile while looking at him and returned his camera.
When we couldn’t see the sun anymore, we decided to have a walk and explore some
parts of the island. I can see that he really is a traveller. He knows how to greet people most
especially the natives. He loves what he does and he knows how to respect others.
During my stay in Cebu, I’ve become much closer to him. We went to other places
together. We’ve got the chance to get to know each other better and I could say that he’s really
an ideal guy.
“Do you really travel alone? Don’t you have someone who can travel with you?” I
suddenly ask.
“A girlfriend? I don’t have, but I think I’ll have one now,” he said while looking at me
smiling, and that made me blush. Based from how he treats me while we are together in this
island, it’s not hard to fall for him. And I think, I just did.

3. Time goes by and it’s already my last day in Cebu. My vacation is finally over and it’s
now time to face reality. But part of me does not want to go home most especially now that I
have him. Even though there are a lot of ways for us to communicate, but it’s still not the same
being with him, physically but I have no choice.
“I’ll visit you soon, I promise,” he said as I went to the airport. Cebu, thank you for the
memories. I will always treasure it.
After quite some time, he visited me in my place. My family and friends got the chance
to know him and everyone liked him. Suddenly he proposed for marriage. At the back of my
mind, I wasn’t ready. I am not yet ready for marriage. So, I declined.
I never heard anything from him after that.
“Sam, we can now start the program. Everyone’s here,” Jasmin said and that made me
back to my senses. I, then signalled the host to start the engagement party.
“Ladies and gentlemen, good evening and welcome to the engagement party of Nathaniel
Smith and Alliyah Sezer!” the host exclaimed.
“Congratulations,” I whispered as I watch him being happily engaged to one of my
friends whom I introduced him to before.
