An experienced, Industrial Services professional with over 30 years’ experience, progressing from
Thermal Insulation Engineer to Operations Director. I am skilled in the management and motivation
of multidiscipline teams and my strength lies in my interpersonal skills with clients and employees at
all levels.
I consider myself an adaptable, self-motivated, well-organised and efficient individual with a hands-on

Full P&L responsibility for the four aforementioned countries. Reporting directly to the COO.
Established new business opportunities to complement the Industrial Services currently being
offered including but not limited to painting, composite repairs and increased focus on access
solutions. Re establish the business units, within the applicable countries, after an initial review of
the senior management and subsequent departures from the business of the same.

Full P&L responsibility for $37m turnover business unit employing over 1,500 employees, Four direct
reports. Reporting directly to CEO in Plc. head office. Due to operational issues, along with working
along side a very difficult client, I was seconded to this project, to help complete the industrial works
associated with the above contract.

2. Aug 2008 to present – Operations Director
Northern Gulf (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq)
Full P&L responsibility for $90m turnover business unit employing over 2,500 employees, seven
direct reports. Reporting directly to CEO in Plc. head office. Established new business opportunities
including painting, composite repairs and increased focus on access solutions. Overhead cost savings,
reductions in Senior European management which contributed to EBIT growth. Developed new
reporting requirements for project productivity and cost and revenue control and forecasts.
Improvements made in man-power planning and allocation of project resources. Achieved 23 million
man-hours since last LTA. Opening new territories during 2011 (Iraq)
Dec 2007 to Jul 2008 General Manager
Southern Gulf (UAE and Oman)
Initial role based in Abu Dhabi with responsibility for Oman and the UAE business units. Challenged
existing business processes, creating robust reporting for project managers to understand the key
drivers of the projects and maintenance contracts. Ensuring better cost control, manpower and
resource allocations for major projects within the territory.

P&L responsibility for the Industrial services business in the North East, having an annual turnover of
more than $25 Million per annum. Major sites included the four British Nuclear fuel plants.
Project Manager (Jan 2004 – Dec 2005)
My role was to manage the access, insulation and painting works on the Teesside region. I was
responsible for man management and commercial management of all aspects of the contract.
Services Manager HMS Bulwark (Jul 2003 – Dec 2003)
The duties carried out on the above project, were to complete the insulation and painting works,
which were left uncompleted by the previous contractor. The contract was completed in seven
months. The contract was carried out in accordance with MOD specification.
Services Site Manager - AMEC Jubail Saudi Arabia (Jan 2003 – Jul 2003)
The duties carried out on the above project were to complete the access, painting and Insulation
works within an eight-month period. The work scope was to insulate 50,000m2 of pipework, erect
access to the pipe racks and paint the pipes were applicable. The labour force peaked at three
hundred and fifty operatives under my responsibility.
Site Manager - BP Hull (Jan 1999 – Jan 2003)
Access, insulation, asbestos removal, painting, and light civil works. Duties included the day-to-day
co-ordination, operation, and administration for the contract. Estimation, site set up, managing

3. supervision, labour, stock and materials for any new work on site including stand-alone
contracts/shutdowns. P&L responsibility for the full contract.

Dutch Privately owned multi-national company, providing industrial services
1998 – 1999 - Site Manager
ESSO Refinery, Fawley
This contract involved the insulation of various systems for the co-generation project on behalf of
Ledwood Construction. Duties on this project were to implement and develop the safety plan, to
liaise with Ledwood’s to fulfil the contract requirements, produce productivity sheets on a weekly
basis and organise the labour force to keep up with the current working plan.
1998 - Site Manager
Cussons, Nottingham
Cussons Nottingham was a fast track project, which involved the supervision of Insulators, painters,
and fire-proofers. Duties included the following the implementation of the safety plan on site.
Report daily progress and liaise with the QA/QS department as to how the contract was performing.
Report to my operations director on a weekly basis.
1998 - QA/QC Manager/ Site Manager
Jupiter Project / E.O.D. Project
Duties included co-ordinating the signing off, of completed lines and equipment to the standards set
in our company’s QA/QC policy. The project involved co-operating closely with ICI personnel to
complete the substantial overhaul of the works on the site. The job was completed successfully, on
time for the plant to be re-instated to full working order.
1998 - Site Manager
Ammonia Storage Shutdown, ICI, North Tees
Oversee all aspects of the contract, which included scaffolding, insulation, and painting. The contract
was completed on time and within budget.
1997 - Site Manager
BASF Seal Sands, Gas Fired Boiler and All Associated Pipe work
My duties here were to oversee all aspects of the contract including the ordering of all materials.
Maintaining all paperwork in a correct and proper manner to meet all standards set out in BS5750
ISO9000. This project ran for 8 months in which all completion dates were met satisfactorily and to a
high standard and within budget.
1996 – 1997

Carry out the installation of fireproofing to structural steelwork on a petro-chemical module.

Worked on various sites throughout the Northeast, using all types of insulation, from Rockwool,
Ceramic fibre, Foamglas, Polyisocyanurate, and Calcium Silicate. Most of the finishing materials were
all types and grades of metal.
