2. Summary
• In this tutorial, you’ll use the Slope Formula to
calculate the slope between two points. The
steps in the tutorial include:
– Creating a Graph Window.
– Adding two points
– Connecting the points with a line.
– Using the Text tool to create a formula.
– Linking the formula to the coordinates.
3. Create a Graph Window
Click on the +tool to activate this menu.
4. Deactivate the Keyboard
By default the keyboard is active. Click on the
Keyboard button to deactivate it.
5. Select the Geometry Tools
Click Menu. Then select Geometry > Points &
Lines > Point.
6. Place Two Points Onscreen
Note: You’ll have to reselect the Point tool to create the second
point.
7. Display the Coordinates
Press once on the point. Then press again to bring up the
Coordinate option. Select it to display the coordinates.
9. Write a Formula
Click Menu and press the buttons at the top to go
to the Tools Menu. Select Action > Text.
10. Write a Formula
Click on a clear part of the screen to input the Slope
Formula. Use the keyboard and fraction placeholder to
input the formula. Press Enter when done.

12. Link the Formula
Click on the formula. Then click on the values that
represent x1, y1, x2, and y2. The formula will
calculate and display the slope.
13. Link the Formula
You can also edit the coordinates directly. Double-
click on the coordinates and use the keyboard to
input new values.
