Introduction:
The tour was about our common irrigation system & how it is given to the land. And moreover about what kind of
design and instruments we are used to use. The three main purpose of this trip was
 How irrigation was given to field
 Scopes in irrigation
 Real life experience about irrigation
We had gone to BINA (Bangladesh institute of Nuclear Agriculture). There was a conference with Mr. Azgar Ali
sarker, Director of BINA.
Lysimeter: by which we can measure ET and leaching
We had seen Tab- in which leaching water are collected. We can determine the nutrient amount from the tab system.
Area of the Lysimeter experimental plot we had seen was 1.2 square meter & its depth was 1.1m.
Excess tube, probe are exist. And we can get reading from here.

Mini Weather station: A weather station is a facility with instruments and equipment
for measuring atmospheric conditions including temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity,
wind speed, wind direction and precipitation amounts. From this observer can measure the
irrigated amount and height of water flowing through the v-notch .
.
BMD Office: We had met the technician of BMD office named Anisur Rahman. He had helped
us to visit the office and he had introduced us to there existing equipements.
Soil Thermometer:
A soil thermometer is used to measuring the temperature of the soil.
They collect data at 6a.m and at 6p.m

Anemometer: An anemometer is a device used for measuring wind speed. It is a common weather station
instrument.
Hair hygrograph: An instrument used for recording the relative humidity of air
continuously.
Evaporation Tank:

Sunshine Recorder: it can detect that how much time the sun give light a day
Wind vane: A device that measures the wind direction. The wind vane works combine with
anemometer.

Pyrano graph: An instrument for the continuous recording of direct or scattered solar
radiation. It consists of recording galvanometer, in order to record only scattered radiation, a
pyranograph is mounted in a ring device that shields it from the direct rays of the sun.
Barograph: it has a vacuum chamber. It has compression & extension capacity. It rotates one
time in seven days
Solar digital rain gauge: It measures rainfall. It get power from solar energy and
measure data automatically

Then we had gone to Farm Mangement Depertment. Here we had introduced with Ziaur
Rahman. He was our guide to visit the farm and its machine and irrigation system.
Total farm area -215 acres
Cultivable- 180 acres
They irrigate in the 1st
and 3rd
Block by Turbine system, but in the 2nd
block by submerged
irrigation. Farm Mangement Depertment supply 20-25% seeds to BADC.
In the inverted syphun process water flow trough a concrete structure designed under surface
level.
There are three types of pump:
Turbine ; HP-30, RPM- 1455, water delivery capacity- 1.25 cusec
Housing- 80ft, column pipe Numbers- 7. There are no suction and its
discharge rate is 100%

And then we get into the bus again and rached in BINA office, we had met with Azgar Ali
Sarker, Director of BINA.at BINA they …………………..
Azgar ali sarker sir had share about BINA, its Branch, activities and also about their achievement
so far. He also shared his life experiences. And then we saw a radio …. By which we can change
a crop characteristics though its a slow process
