1. Mission Statement
Matte is a new and exclusive indie rock music magazine which is written to
inform people about the old and up and coming artists. The name of this magazine is
Matte because it will contradicts how I will use one bright colour throughout. Also the
name was chosen because generally in indie rock the colours are very plain and
bold. This name will juxtapose the front cover as it is seen not to be shiny but
magazines are traditionally with a glossy finish.
This magazine will be released once a month and will be released at the end
of the month. Matte will be sold in many different places. One of the main ways they
will be able to get the magazine is online. This is because in this current age of time
most people of the target audience will be able to use the internet and would find it
much more convenient. As instead of having many hard copies lying around they
can go on their smartphones and almost instantly have the latest issue up on their
phone. Also Matte will be sold in the traditional ways, at supermarkets, newsagents
and in some music shops. Matte will cost £2.00 at any shop which distributes the
magazine but will also be available at a cheaper price of £1.50 for the online copy.
In Matte it will feature many different topics throughout its publication. These
topics will include how to start up in the music industry, advice about career
opportunities and other topics which relate to the indie rock genre. The articles which
will feature in this publication are; gig guides; latest news; up and coming artists;
album reviews; gig/festival reviews; interview and competitions.
Matte promises to its target audience that it will bring them the latest going
ons in the indie rock genre and a chance to gain entertainment and information. Any
news, big or small, will be delivered to the readers each month so they know the talk
of the indie rock genre. As well as this it will also offer exclusive interviews with the
big names but will included the new, up and coming artists.
Our beliefs at Matte are that we want to celebrate the indie rock genre. No
matter how big or small it is anything that we think are readers want to know we will
deliver it to them. We value up and coming artists and will try to do our best to help
them be know. They are the future if the music industry and we want to help them.
Any success they achieve will be celebrated to show the young readers it is
achievable no matter what.
This magazine will be a fun and modern magazine. That will deliver what the readers
want. It will give them fun opportunities within the music genre and will give them a
chance at their dreams. Matte will have modern style to it and will be up to date with
the latest trends.
The main readers of Matte are is a young male of the age of 18 and is at the
point of his life he wants to go out and have fun. This person may not know what he
wants to do with his future but seeks any advice possible. He enjoys the indie rock
genre and just loves to find out anything about indie rock.
