2. So how could I distribute my media
product?
1. Online through downloadable issues
Pro’s Con’s
Doesn’t waste paper/ink
Saves money on shipping and
producing physical copies
Almost everybody has access
to the internet
Is then open to be shared on
social media which is free
promotion
May be harder to intrigue
people to buy it as they can’t
physically flick through it
Not everybody has internet
access
Runs the risk of people illegally
downloading and/or sharing
3. 2. App’s available on the app store

4. 3. Large chain supermarkets e.g Asda Tesco
Morrisons
Pro’s Con’s
Trustworthy brands so people
will buy from there in
confidence
Widespread advertisement-
stores nation/world wide
Somewhere recognisable
where we can tell our buyers to
purchase from
May charge more to sell our
product there
Won’t attract a younger
audience because they tend to
stick to more internet based
distribution methods.
5. 4. Large chain retail stores e.g Boots
WHSmith

6. 5. Small businesses such as
newsagents
Pro’s Con’s
Cheap place to sell issues to
May be trusted on a personal
level by locals
Only available to local
audiences
Won’t sell as many issues
7. Institutions
• Bauer- publish over 300 different magazines
• IPC media- publish largely known mainstream
magazines such as NME
• Viacom networks Europe do not yet publish
magazines and it could make good publicity to
be the first magazine published by them
8. I choose...IPC media
I feel that IPC media would be perfect to
distribute my media product as it reaches so
many different audiences and has produced
some of the most iconic magazines to date
including NME which I have continually
compared my won magazine to. If IPC media
can do well for NME then I am convinced they
are able to do the same for me.
9. IPC media is a well known institutution and is
therefore trusted by audiences. IPC medias
printed publications alone reach almost two
thirds of women and 42% of men, not to
mention it’s online issues. It’s flexibility in
terms of publishing online and in physical
copies is ideal because again, it allows me to
reach a wide audience whilst maintaining both
a modern approach and traditional.
10. IPC media is one of the most successful media
institutions in the world currently so I know
that they are reliable and trustworthy. I am
incredibly confident that IPC media is the best
option for me and my media product to use.
