The tools I used when creating my Opie Self Portrait
The first tool that I used when creating my Opei Self Portrait was
the magnetic lasso tool. I used this tool on an original photograph, which
I had taken, to section out the different parts of my body – such as my
face. I then right-clicked and selected ‘layer via copy’ to create an extra
layer which only contained the part of the image that was sectioned out
by the magnetic lasso tool. I then continued to use this to section out all
of the different individual body parts.
The second tool/tools that I used was the paint bucket and colour
swatch tool. I selected the paint bucket tool and then the colour swatch
tool to select a part of my body/shirt so that the colour matched. I then
filled in that same area with that one block colour and a minimum amount
of detail to get the true effect of an Opei Self Portrait.
The third tool that I used was the brush tool. I used this to outline
my portrait so that it stood out from the background and so that the edges
seemed smoother.
Any parts of the task that I found difficult
Personally I never found any part of the task as particularly difficult. I
assume this is due to me having experience in Photoshop before. With
this being the case I quickly finished my Opie Self Portrait and helped
other people in the creation of their Opie Self Portrait.
If I was to recreate this piece of work I would spend more time on getting
the detail on the shirt correct.
