Georgia's Executive Branch
- 2. • The governor is in charge of Georgia’s Executive Branch.
• In Georgia, Nathan Deal is our governor.
• The governor enforces the state laws, picks other state leaders,
and commands the state National Guard.
• The governor also has the power to say no to state bills he does
not like, this is called a veto.
• The governor’s term lasts for 4 years.

- 5. • The lieutenant governor is second in command of the
state to the governor.
• Casey Cagle is the lieutenant governor of Georgia.
• If the governor is not able to perform is duties, the
lieutenant governor will take over.
• The lieutenant governor serves as President to the state
Senate.
