2. EARLY LIFE
He was born in Buenos Aires in 1947 to Cap. Pablo Raul Carballo
and Ms. Celia Villanueva
At the age of two, he moved to San Carlos de Bariloche.
At the age on 19 in 1968 he joins the Escuela de Aviacion Militar,
graduating in 1971 as an Alférez.
3. THE MALVINAS WAR
Argentinian pilot who fought in the Malvinas War
In 1980 he was transfered to the V Brigada Aerea
In 1982 he and his squadron, whilst flying at low altittude so radars
of the ships could not detect them, damaged the HMS Broadwood
and sank, with an attack consisting of three bombs, the HMS
Coventry during a mission on the 25th of May, with the “Zeus” and
“Vulcano” squads
4. LATER LIFE
In 1986 he was promoted to Major.
In 1989 he was transfered to the VI Brigada Aerea as Chief of Squad.
In 1993 he recieved the Cruz al Heroico Valor en Combate.
In 1996 he’s promoted to Vicecomodoro
He retired in 2001.
He keeps on teaching Privates at the E.A.M.
5. WHY DO WE CONSIDER
HIM A HERO?
We consider him a hero because of his achievments and bravery during the
Malvinas War
Telling the story of the people who fought in the war.
The fullfilment of its oath of serving his motherland utill his death
He, with his squad, sank the most important ship on the British Royal Navy
during the war, the HMS Coventry, and damaged the most lethal, the HMS
Broadwood
