 To identify the meaning of “Motivation”
 To identify type of motivators
 To understand what a teacher should do to
motivate his/her students.
 To concretize how the blog can empower
students’ learning.
 To present a real blog and students’ work
like a tool for empowering student’s
motivation.
We hear the word “MOTIVATION”
very often.
But what does it
mean?

“movere” which
means “to move”

 The act of process of stimulating to action, providing an incentive or
motive, especially for an act.

 Motivation can be defined as an internal condition initiated by drives,
needs, or desires and producing a goal behaviour. It is also the
willingness to exert high levels of effort toward organizational goals .

 Motivation means the classes of operations used to produce and

There are some ways or methods that can increase students’
motivation in the EFL classes. The most applicable are:

 The seating of the students
 The Error Correction
 Role Play
 Using realia, flash cards, Stories and songs in teaching
 Using audio visual material: cassette player, video, computer…
 Using the L1 in the EFL/ ESL classroom
 Using Blogs
