I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content
Standards
The learner demonstrate an understanding of (1)the formation of the universe and the solar system, (2) the subsystems (geosphere,
hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere) that make up the earth, (3)the Earth’s internal structure.
B. Performance
Standards
The learners shall be able to conduct a survey or design a study to assess the possible hydro-meteorological hazards that your community may
experience.
C. Learning
Competencies/
Objectives
ORIENTATION (First Day of
School Year 2023-2024)

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing
previous lesson
or presenting
the new lesson
Identify the planets in the solar system.
B. Establishing a
purpose for the
lesson
Motivation: Why is it Earth called a “living planet”?
C. Presenting
examples/instan
ces of the new
lessons
What do you think are the
characteristics of the planet Earth
that make it different from all the
other planets?
Earth is the only place in the
known universe confirmed to host
life and is the only one known for
sure to have liquid water in the
surface. These are reasons why
planet Earth is a unique one: (1) It
has liquid water; (2) surface or
lithosphere which includes the
crust and the upper mantle; and
(3) It has atmosphere that shelters
it from the worst of the sun’s rays
D. Discussing new
concepts and
practicing new
skills #1

3. E. Discussing new
concepts and
practicing new
skills #2
Discuss the different factors that
make planet habitable.
Discuss the following:
Understanding Planet Earth
F. Developing
mastery (leads
to Formative
Assessment 3)
G. Finding
practical
Application of
concepts and
skills in daily
living
Present a situation in which the
students can apply their
learning.
How is planet Earth similar and
different from Venus and Mars?
H. Making

Abstractions
about the
lessons
How will you evaluate yourself if
you were in that kind of situation?
Explain briefly.
Call a student to sum-up the
lesson/topic.
I. Evaluating
Learning
Identification.
Identify what is being asked for.
(To be dictated)
J. Additional
activities for
application or
remediation
Can man change or adjust Mars’
environment to make it more
suitable for human habitation?
How?
V. REMARKS

lessons work? No. of
learners who have caught
up with lessons
D. No. of learners who
continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my
teaching strategies worked
well? Why did these work?
F. What difficulties
did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can
help me solve?
