「比丘們啊 !如果任何人,以這樣的方式發展這些四念住七年,
他可期待兩種果位之一: 或者,當下〔 證 得 〕究竟智; 或者,
如果還絲毫的執著,〔則 得〕不還果。何況七年...六年...五年
...四年...三年...二年...一 年...七個月...六個月...五個月...四個月...
三個月...二 個月...一個月...半個月...如果任何人,以這樣的方
式發展這 些四念住七天,他可期待兩種果位之一:或者 ,當下
〔 證得 〕究竟智 (阿羅漢果); 或者,如果還有絲毫的執著,
〔則得〕不還果 (阿那含果)。」
佛說阿彌陀經
「舍利弗。若有善男子善女人。聞說阿彌陀佛。執持名號。若
一日。若二日。若三日。若四日。若五日。若六日。若七日。
一心不亂。其人臨命終時。阿彌陀佛。與諸聖眾。現在其前。
是人終時。心不顛倒。即得往生阿彌陀佛極樂國土。」

◦ 懺悔的三法門
◦ “May the merit and virtue that I share with you now help to guard your
behavior, nourish your spirit and lead you to the path to develop the spiritual
qualities needed to gain birth in a realm of real happiness.”
◦ 美琪乔深深怜悯这不幸神识的悲惨处境、慈悲 地回向功德给
它,希望能种下往生人道的种子:
“愿将我的功德回向给你,协助你守护自己的言行,增长善
根,引导你培养善的品行,累积资粮往生真正快乐的地
方。”
◦ Although its ghostly existence prevented it from performing acts of merit, it
could still participate in others’ good deeds by applauding those acts and
spiritually identifying itself with the resulting merit and virtue. By creating a
spiritual bond with her, the deceased buffalo had taken a positive step
forward to a favorable rebirth.
◦ 她看到加害者和被害者纠缠在埋怨、报复、残忍和嗔恨的恶
业中,一世又一世互换角色,不断往下坠落,趋向越来越黑
暗的恶道。
◦ 还未解脱轮回生死的人应该好好思维这起事 件,任何人如果
忽略修心,轻视遵守戒的原则,将 有可能堕落到同样的境地。
◦ Mae Chee Kaew learned about death and rebirth and the craving that
connects the two, linking lives in an endless continuum of pain and
suffering.
◦ 美琪乔看到渴爱联系着死亡与再生,把生命导 入一连串无止
境的忧悲苦恼当中。
I. Communal repentance
第一:作法懺悔
◦ This type of repentance is very similar to that of the Theravada tradition. It is
solely for Buddhist monks and nuns who have violated any of their precepts,
except the four parajika (四波羅夷罪: 殺、盜、淫、妄) offenses
which entail expulsion from the sangha.
◦ 目的: (1) Serves to strengthen the bonds 加強每人對於社會的結合
attaching the individual to the society of which he is a member of; (2)
Maintains the moral purity 僧團的道德純潔 of the sangha, the religious
community; (3) the purity of the sangha is an affirmation of the presence of
the Buddha’s Dharma 有佛法的存在.
II. Visionary/Auspicious sign repentance
第二:觀相懺悔
◦ Practiced by both monastics and lay people, especially when lay people want
to undergo ordination with the bodhisattva precepts.
◦ Several instances in which people practice this type of repentance: (a) to
receive the bodhisattva precepts 受菩薩戒之前, (b) if a monastic or lay
person has violated any of his or her precepts 出家、在家破戒, except the
five grave offenses 除非五逆罪, and needs to purify his or her defilement.
◦ According to Zhiyi, the practitioner chooses a repentance scripture, keeps his
mind in a state of tranquility 安靜心, and will observe various auspicious
signs (lights 光, halos 光環, flowers 花, or Buddha rubbing one‘s crown 佛
觸摸頭頂) .
◦ Any of these signs is an indication that the transgression or infraction has
been eradicated and a confirmation of one‘s practice. If no sign appears, it
means that one‘s effort has been to no avail.
◦ According to Bodhisattva Stage, if a bodhisattva commits a major offence
and loses a precept, he can repent in front of three or more people. He can
then receive the bodhisattva precepts again. If there was no one to uphold the
Dharma, he would give rise to a pure mind and recite ―I will never commit
his transgression again. In the future, I will always uphold the moral
precepts. Once he does, his transgression is expiated.
III. Formless Repentance
第三:無生懺悔//無相懺悔
◦ 大懺悔//別場懺悔-by Zhiyi in Guoqing bailu 國清百錄 and the Great
Calming and Contemplation 摩訶止觀.
◦ Cultivating this form of repentance 無生懺悔 could eradicate innumerable
eons of major transgressions (CBETA T46.1916.486b28-b29).
智顗
◦ 行大懺悔者應當起大悲心憐愍一切深達罪源一切諸法本來空
寂。
◦ 若欲除滅但當反觀如此
普賢觀經:
◦ 觀心無心法不住法我心自空罪福無主一切諸法皆悉如是
六祖壇經
慧能 (638-713)
◦ 懺悔過去、悔改未來。
◦ 懺悔有兩種意義,一是過去做了一些錯事,起一個慚愧的心、
悔改的心,發願改過;二是從現在起要修一切善、斷一切惡。
這就是真正的懺悔。
◦ 今與汝等授無相懺悔,滅三世罪,令得三業清淨。
◦ 從前念今念及後念,念念不被嫉妒染。從前所有惡業嫉妒等
罪,悉皆懺悔,願一時消滅,永不復起。
