The student used various technologies available at their school to construct their product. They used school computers running the latest software, like Adobe Photoshop, to design and edit pages. A Sony Cybershot camera was used to take high-quality photographs. Microsoft Word was utilized to structure writing. Work was saved to a memory stick and also backed up at school and home computers. Internet research, like using Google, supported planning and finding examples.

product?

2. Laptop/Computer: I used the computers available at school during lesson time
to help with my construction of my product. Out of lesson time I used the
computer rooms available around my school for private study such as our
multimedia centre. This is were most of my magazine was produced as it allows
you to work at your own pace and in conditions of your choice. All computers
around my school are fitted with the latest software making my job of creating
my product easier and quicker.

3. Adobe Photoshop: This is the editing software available on all computers
throughout my school, it is where I created and edited almost all of
product. The tools on it allowed me to create the desired affects on my
magazine. After the brief tutorial of Photoshop during our preliminary, as
well as personal practice I soon became able to use Photoshop effectively
and to my advantage by creating the kind of product I wanted. An example
of how I used Photoshop is on my contents page.

4. Sony Cybershot Camera: This is the camera I used to take all the photographs
for my magazine. It is high quality and was provided to me by the school. I feel
the good quality of the camera contributed a lot to the making of my product.
For instance on my front cover I used a photo that had been zoomed in a lot
and it didn't go blurry at all. Also used photographs from my friend Zak’s
camera that we took together and consequently shared as we had the same
photographs. These were only used on my contents page.

5. Microsoft Word 2007: I used this to write up my double page spread interview as I
thought it would work best on a word document as it would encourage a bit more
structure to my writing and I could keep a word count of how much I had done.
Slideshare: I created a PowerPoint using Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 and then
uploaded it onto slideshare which allowed me to publish it onto my blog.
Memory Stick: This was the main place I saved my work, although I had back ups both
at school and on my computer. I used this as I could take the work to and from school
easily allowing me as much time as possible to complete the work.
Internet: Internet explorer, Google.com, A vital part of my research and planning as I
used Google to do a lot of it particularly finding magazine examples and finding out
facts.
