Using various intervention programs, pre, mid, and posttests, data collection methods, I was able to increase the students’
comprehension levels 90%.
EXPERIENCE
Harford County Public Schools:Middle School Special Education Teacher- BelAir, MD
July 2009 to November 2015
 Wrote Individualized Education Plans for 15-20 students per year in grades 8 and 7, meeting the set timelines.
 I communicated with parents of students on my caseload, staff, student, administration, as well as parents of
students in the cotaught class, as well as DSS and home and hospital facilities.
 I organized IEP meetings for students on my caseload as well as presenting the IEPs at meetings with the IEP team
 In order to prepare for the IEP meetings and determine accurate present levels of performance I administered a
variety of assessments,including the Qualitative Reading Inventory (QRI,) The Brigance, Woodcock Johnson,
Curriculum-Based Assessment for Writing (CBA,) as well as the Math Predictors Test.
 During this time, I planned, modified, and cotaught the Maryland State Curriculum in Reading, Math, Social
Studies, and Science as well as modifying written portions included in the student’s Unified Arts classes.
 I taught small group reading and math intervention programs to students who were performing at below grade-
level expectations.
Extended School Year Teacher (ESY): Harford County Public Schools- BelAir,MD
June 2009 to July 2015
 Provided individualized instruction to students based on their goals and objectives.
 Planned, instructed, and worked in small groups and one-on-one with students who qualified for ESY. Instruction
included, reading, writing, math, and behavior management goals.
Baltimore County Public Schools: General Education Teacher- Edgemere Elementary School: Edgemere, MD
July 2006 to July 2009
 Planned and instructed 4th and 5th grade regular education students and students with learning difficulties in math,
reading, writing, science and social studies.
 Communicated with parents on a regular basis on the progress of their child.
 Met with special education teachers about the needs of the students with disabilities in my classroom.
Baltimore County Public Schools: Special Education Teacher- Dundalk Middle School: Dundalk, MD
July 2003- July 2006
 Wrote and implemented Individualized Education Plans for a caseload of 20 students
 Taught a modified curriculum in self-contained English classroom.
 I modified the curriculum and cotaught English and Reading to students in the general education classroom who
were identified as students with Emotional Disturbance, Learning Disabilities as well as Intellectual Disabilities.

 As a Special Education teacher,I case managed a caseload of 29 students with emotional, intellectual and learning
disabilities in a generaleducation classroom.
 Planned with the general education teacher,modifying the curriculum and tests to meet the needs of each student.

performed, and documented daily cognitive, social, auditory, independent living skills, and sensory motor goals
with clients.

 I worked one on one with visually impaired clients. I had the opportunity to learn more about visual impairments
and how to assist those with visual impairments in getting around in an unfamiliar setting, swimming, running, and

EXPERIENCE Harford County Public Schools:Middle School Special Education Teacher- BelAir, MD July 2009 to November 2015  Wrote Individualized Education Plans for 15-20 students per year in grades 8 and 7, meeting the set timelines.  I communicated with parents of students on my caseload, staff, student, administration, as well as parents of students in the cotaught class, as well as DSS and home and hospital facilities.  I organized IEP meetings for students on my caseload as well as presenting the IEPs at meetings with the IEP team  In order to prepare for the IEP meetings and determine accurate present levels of performance I administered a variety of assessments,including the Qualitative Reading Inventory (QRI,) The Brigance, Woodcock Johnson, Curriculum-Based Assessment for Writing (CBA,) as well as the Math Predictors Test.  During this time, I planned, modified, and cotaught the Maryland State Curriculum in Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science as well as modifying written portions included in the student’s Unified Arts classes.  I taught small group reading and math intervention programs to students who were performing at below grade- level expectations.

Extended School Year Teacher (ESY): Harford County Public Schools- BelAir,MD June 2009 to July 2015  Provided individualized instruction to students based on their goals and objectives.  Planned, instructed, and worked in small groups and one-on-one with students who qualified for ESY. Instruction included, reading, writing, math, and behavior management goals. Baltimore County Public Schools: General Education Teacher- Edgemere Elementary School: Edgemere, MD July 2006 to July 2009  Planned and instructed 4th and 5th grade regular education students and students with learning difficulties in math, reading, writing, science and social studies.  Communicated with parents on a regular basis on the progress of their child.  Met with special education teachers about the needs of the students with disabilities in my classroom. Baltimore County Public Schools: Special Education Teacher- Dundalk Middle School: Dundalk, MD July 2003- July 2006  Wrote and implemented Individualized Education Plans for a caseload of 20 students  Taught a modified curriculum in self-contained English classroom.  I modified the curriculum and cotaught English and Reading to students in the general education classroom who were identified as students with Emotional Disturbance, Learning Disabilities as well as Intellectual Disabilities. Carroll County Public Schools: Special Education Teacher- Sykesville Middle School: Sykesville, MD July 2002- July 2003  As a Special Education teacher,I case managed a caseload of 29 students with emotional, intellectual and learning disabilities in a generaleducation classroom.  Planned with the general education teacher,modifying the curriculum and tests to meet the needs of each student. RELATED EXPERIENCE Instructional Assistant- Freedom Area School District: Freedom,PA January 2002 to July 2002  Was an instructional Aide in a 2nd and 4th grade Learning Support classroom, planning, modifying, and instructing lessons in small groups or individually as well as assisting the classroom teacher.  Was a one-on-one aid for a student with autism in the Middle School in which I supervised him in his classes, managed his behavior as well as helping him with difficult work. Volunteer Chairperson ofSpecial Olympics Western Fall Sectional- Slippery Rock University: Slippery Rock, PA August 1998 to November 2000  My duties included getting trustworthy volunteers from the University and the community and placing them with athletes from different counties and events, as well as spending time with the athletes. I had the opportunity to learn more about visual impairments and how to assist those with visual impairments in getting around in an unfamiliar setting, swimming, running, and gymnastics.
