agencies, public charter schools and districts.
December 2012 – July 2015 Executive Director of Student Support Services. New Beginnings Schools
Foundation. New Orleans, LA
Oversaw special education, response to intervention, health services, homebound
services, attendance/truancy, ADA Section 504 student services, and instruction for
English language learners (ELL). Additionally, managed all related/external
provider services (vendors).
June 2011 – December 2012 Special Education Specialist – Charter Oversight. The Recovery School District
(RSD), Portfolio Division– Office of School Performance (OSP). New Orleans, LA
a.) Authored the 2011 - 2012 RSD Special Education Type 5 Charter Schools
Oversight reports.
b.) Collaborated with the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) to
develop the special education portion of RSD annual review process for
Type 5 charter schools.

Corrective Action Plan (ICAP) activities and provided feedback to charters.
d.) Reported Type 5 charter schools ICAP findings to LDOE on a
quarterly basis.
e.) Provided ICAP technical support and managed external consulting group’s
(TIERS) support activities offered/provided to Type 5 charter schools.
f.) Collected and reviewed requested student specific documentation; submit
to LDOE, Legal Services, for impending class action lawsuit.
g.) Collaborated across departments (Finance and Services) to devise a formula
that distributes special education funds - from the Special Education
Reserve - more equitably. Standing RSD project.
h.) Developed Type 5 charter school special education resource primer.
i.) Addressed Type 5 charter school parent complaints as needed.
j.) Contributed in the development of Louisiana Charter School Performance

Full time, tenure-track instructor and faculty advisor for undergraduate students. Instructional
responsibilities included curriculum and program development in multiple areas, designing
materials for numerous classes, and teaching courses, such as: special education instructional
methods, educational statistics, tests and measurement, behavior/classroom management, and
survey of special education. Administrative responsibilities included developing, teaching, and
coordinating special education program/majors; coordinating the education department’s
electronic data collection system (LiveText); developing, implementing, and coordinating the
education department’s assessment system; and, directing yearly inclusive summer camp (Project
SEEC).

Spring 2006 Africa. Hired to support President Bush’s grant initiative, Textbooks for a Global Society
(TAGS), designed to develop textbooks for second and third graders in Africa. Traveled
with a team of colleagues to provide instructional support and conduct program evaluations
in West Africa.

Education Conference: University of Habana and 2) designed and engaged in comparative
