The document discusses two music videos and how their visual elements relate to the genre and tone of the songs. For the first video, the costumes and lighting change to match different genres as the song's genre changes. For example, darker clothes and lighting create a rock feel. The second video features upbeat, energetic outfits and pink lighting to match the girly, fun song. Camerawork also reflects the tone, with quick cuts during energetic parts and longer shots during slower sections to build emotion. The visuals in both videos effectively correspond to the songs' styles.

The costumes in this one change throughout as the genre changes whenever they change
the channel on the video.
First example. As it changes to rock genre we get this darker feel with the ripped black
clothes and the black background. This is the stereotypical rock scene with dark almost
gothical feel to it. The pace aswell of the scene. It's a fast pace as rock music is.
Here we get a very sunny feel and warm feel as folk music is based in a sort of ranchy
american which is very warm. There costumes symbolise this with shorts and hats.
The angles of the camera remain very similar. We get these medium shots that are centrally
framed. We then get close ups of the singers dancing to show emotion etc
The pace is accompanied to whatever the theme it has. On the rock scene it's very fast
paced and each person is on the camera for a short time as it frantically changes with the
pace of the music. The camera is very steady it's in a set position that will zoom in and out
but generally stays central. The costume changes fit perfectly as i mentioned earlier but with
2. all the other scenes they picked the costumes and the lighting to fit the genre whether it's
dark or fun for example. There girly songs the backing light is pink which is stereotypically
girly.

This video has great aspects that work so well with the song. First of all the song is very girly
and female themed. First of all their outfits the main singer wears a range of different outfits.
3. As you can see from these outfits they are all very energetic. And very “girly” both fitting with
the song as the song itself is very upbeat and energetic. Her makeup aswell is very girly with
pinky/red lipstick emphasising this girly fun feel.
The camera will zoom in on the actresses in this video and they are always smiling or acting
happy so this emphasises how happy and fun this song is.
There is a moment where the song goes slow:
4. The length of time that the actress is on the screen changes dramatically when the song
goes slow. She is on the screen for much longer than usual and the close ups last alot
longer suggesting that this scene is more melodic or emotional where as in the previous
scenes the camera is frantically and constantly changing from close ups to longshots to the
different actresses and also here the lighting is a dull blue whereas in previous scenes it has
a pink light exciting colours.
