2. Stage 1:
It all starts with a design or a drawing of what your magazine will look like and what photos
will go in. This includes what your target audience will be, the house style and of course what
models will be in it.
Here is an example of a very very early design. It is literally
just the boxes of where things will go. This should be one of
the first things that happens and it should be inspired by the
genre of your magazine. It should be taken into account the
other magazines out there with the same genre and what
themes and house styles they follow.
3. Stage 2:
Next focusing on the models is important. Getting the right people into your magazines is
vital. You must make sure that they fit the genre and theme of your magazine. This
includes how their hair is styled and done. The clothes they are wearing. The location that
they are in is also a big part. And finally there expressions on their face can say a lot
about their genre. Then creating an article for your magazine that fits in with the model in
the magazine making sure the questions are relevant and correct.

4. Stage 3:
Next step is now once you have everything you must start putting this magazine together on
pieces of software like Photoshop or InDesign. Using something like photoshop is amazing
as it allows you to edit pretty much everything like fonts, pictures, colours, boxes and the
overall theme of your magazine. You can import photos from your camera to photoshop to
use them in your magazine. InDesign allows you to create the actual layout of your
magazine and how it would look if it was all compiled together.
5. Stage 4:
After you have checked the magazine thoroughly and made sure it is perfect then the magazine is ready
for publishing and distribution. Within the magazine industry there are many magazine distribution
companies but it's all about picking the right one that will help my magazine the best. For my magazine i
am going to use Time inc UK. Mainly because the music magazines they produce have all been
successful. They have published NME. And that was the main inspiration behind my magazine and my
magazine has very similar qualities so i feel that they would take a liking to my magazine as it isn't
identical to NME but it has the same qualities.
6. Stage 5:Advertising and selling.
Advertising the product will be crucial as it allows people to see the product out
and about and make them want to buy it. Ways of advertising my magazine will be
these:
The magazine itself will be sold in newsagents and shops as they are usually the place with the biggest
selection of magazines etc. That's why the front cover will be so important as it is what people will see first
alongside all these other magazines.
