1. A2 Coursework – Media Texts

Music Video
Footage:
Some attempt to use different camera shots and angles. Mise-en-scene is
confusing as to who your artist is, costumes and locations don’t match the song.
Doesn’t fit the 1970s vibe. However element of fun fits the up tempo style of the
song. Would have benefited from the use of a tripod in parts.
Editing:
Edited together well in parts, some well matched lip syncing in parts.
Overall:
There is evidence of a basic level of ability in the creative use of some of the
technical skills. More emphasis of who your artist is and the genre you are trying to
emulate was needed.
Ancillary Task 1: Digipak
There is proficiency in the creative use of most of the technical skills. The layout
has been considered well and follows industry conventions. Images have been
framed, cropped, resized and edited well. Interesting colour scheme throughout.
This design suggests a hip hop style genre. The quote chosen for the inside cover
is interesting but doesn’t necessarily fit your artist.
Ancillary Task 2: Poster
There is evidence of basic ability in the creative use of some of the technical skills.
The layout shows some awareness of industry conventions, however is not full A4
size. The colour scheme fits well with the digipak. Various font have been used,
would have been nice to have matched the fonts on your digipak. Social media
tabs could have been edited to match the colour scheme.
