2. Initial Reaction
I would like to make a car magazine focused around VW cars. I will make it for
VW enthusiast. Age range will be between 18-70 year olds. This will include
the young drivers and also the older people that are into restoring the older
cars. I will make this magazine using my car, the other 2 VWs that are in my
family and also some of my local friends own VWs, so I will use local cars to
feature in my magazine. I am also attending a VW show at the weekend and
have booked out some kit to take photos of all the cars that turn up to the
event. This way I can get an idea of my magazine and the style of photos I
want to take.
I would also like to create my own classical add for my magazine. Something
like what VW used to advertise a long time ago, or maybe even a half and half
new verses old add. Split down the middle.
I could also have a look at the different range of magazines. I could work on a
comparison magazine and look at the difference between the old school
classic cars and the electric cars of today. Or I could work on a showcasing
magazine and take photos of cool and original cars to showcase them with
portfolios.

8. Mood Board Analysis
In my images that I have collected you can see a repetition of highly modified
VWs. I aimed to collect a wide range of photos show casing lots of different styles
of cars. In the VW scene you have many different ranges of modified and non
modified cars. Some build them just to restore them to the former glory and other
think of crazy ideas.
I would like to showcase the both of these in my final magazine. The style of
photography is something that I would like to recreate when making my magazine
as I feel it does well to capture the cars well. It doesn’t leave anything out and
makes them not only look great but also complete. When shooting my car I will
not take the photos like I did the last time and will move my car to a more suitable
location to shoot the photos.
In my two mood boards I have picked out both showcase the different spectrums
of the VW World. I have picked out a selection of rat look VW, which are VW’s that
have a natural rust, that all appeal to me. This style of VW’s are the ones at appeal
to me the most so I would like to include these the most in my magazine. The
second mood board is one that focuses on the restoration of VW’s. Ones that are
built from a ruined shell and restored to there former glory.
