My principal was an academic turned Jetset-
executive, and found out they were a passionate
learner early in their life. In a huge variety of
f
ields of interest.
During our 72 hour retreat we found out that -
due to their job - they weren’t able to consume all
the books, and other media to educate
themselves, and progress in life as they were
accustomed to.
The permanent brain-stimulation they required to
achieve peak performance wasn’t possible
anymore because their busy life just didn’t o
ff
er
enough time.
CONDENSED
KNOWLEDGE
TO FIT IN A CONDENSED SCHEDULE
To learn about their cumbersome daily schedule,
I was “at the hip” of my principal for four weeks.
I needed to understand, which time slots could
be used more e
ff
ectively for them to be able to
intake the knowledge they desire.
Simultaneously I investigated whether there were
resources o
ff
ering condensed versions of the
media in the areas my principal was interested in.
MICRO-WISDOM
FOR A MACRO PLAYER
I realised that my principal wasn’t taking
advantage of “travel-time”. So time spent on
planes, in cars, or trains. They used this time to
reenergise.
Together we concluded that no real relaxation
resulted thereof, and that this was “habitual
procrastination” more than anything else.
We ended up
f
illing these time slots with services
I had unveiled that made it possible to consume
the condensed versions of media. A book on
average in less than 20 minutes. A 100 second
global news service. Etc.
Another positive side e
ff
ect of this habit-
replacement therapy was that my principal used
travel time to work, also. They had rediscovered
the value of those slots, after having used them
to procrastinate through them for years.
