Birth Of A Hero - I like this font because it is quite informal
yet stands out and looks modern. I could use this as my body
text as it is clear and easy to read yet still effective and
informal.Urban Jungle – This font is good because it appears
modern and the ‘skyline’ at the bottom actually looks as
if its sound bars which suits my dance music magazine
well
Prisma – This font looks modern and simplistic yet
effective with the numerous lines. This could potentially be
used for coverlines.
Cubic – This suits my magazine as it looks technical
and flows well like a wave. However, it may be
difficult for some readers to read.
Dance Floor – This font suits my magazine as it looks
dance inspired, however It is quite retro and I’m aiming
for a more modern look.
Neon Club Music – This font is modern and I believe
would be appealing to my audience and would suit my
magazine well. This could potentially be used for
coverlines.
New Wave Linowrite – This font looks formal and stylish and
looks like it would suit my magazine well. I could use
this for my body text as it is clear and easy to read.
3. Colou
r From my survey I found that blue and purple were the most popular
colours for my target audience. Also my audience interviews
suggested ‘bright colours’ were popular so I’ll use bright blues and
purples to appeal to my audience the most. This way stereotypical
gender colours are covered which appeals to both genders and my
target audience.
5. Front
Cover
I will have a medium close
up of my artist as the
background of the
magazine with lots of
whitespace in the picture in
order to put
headlines/coverlines/pull
quotes etc. on top so that
they stand out.
I will have the headline
taking up the top of the
magazine and keep it
straight so that it looks
professional simplistic.
The exclusive content
advertisement will be kept
quite minimal and small so
that the magazine still looks
stylish and professional but
still appeals to a reader.
The coverline and pull
quotes will be added over the
image into any whitespace to
keep the image as the main
focus but still have these to
appeal to a reader. They will
be kept horizontal and small
however to keep the
magazine looking stylish and
professional.
6. Contents
The background for
this page will be
black and I will use
white text in order to
make the writing and
images stand out.
The headings will
categorise the contents
into sections to make it
clearer for the audience
and easier to read.
I’m going to use a
large image as this is
what appeals to my
reader the most and
keeps them interested
in my magazine. This
is also a style used in
similar successful
magazines that I’d like
to imitate.
This will promote the
exclusive and free
material inside in order to
tell the reader where to
find it and motivate them
to keep reading.
7. Double – Page
Spread
I will use a large
image to appeal
to readers
however it will
have a lot of
whitespace in
order to put my
title and my
article on top of it
without any
content being
covered.
I will use a pull
quote placed
over the image to
interest readers
and make them
want to read the
article.
I will put my article
and article title on
top of my image to
make it appear that
they link in
together well. This
also keeps the
writing minimal
but also ensures
only the most
interesting parts go
into the magazine
to keep the reader
interested.
