2. What I have changed as a result of feedback
When filming my trailer i gained audience feedback throughout the
process. When i filmed at the Lit and Phil library my feedback told
me to get some shots which were handheld. I then went back and
shot the main character going down a spiral staircase with a
handheld camera and added this into my trailer. Some of my shots
were suppose to be shot in the dark however i was unable to do this
so i change the lighting on some of the shots in the trailer, this was a
feature my audience liked in the trailer. It was also important that
throughout the process i gained audience feedback on transitions i
used throughout the trailer. For example, i had used a white flash
for a transition in my trailer however i gilt feedback which
suggested i change the transition to a dissolve, when i changed to
this transition it made my trailer look a lot more professional and
made the transition from one shot to the other much smoother. It
was important that i gained audience feedback during my process so
that i could make changers to all of my products to make it as
effective for advertising the film as possible.
3. Final scare
When creating the final scare to my trailer I wanted a
long build up. I decided that an extreme close up of
the killer in his mask would be the final shot. When I
showed this to my audience their feedback told me to
add a scream effect as the shot appears. To do this I
recorded someone screaming and added this to my
trailer.
4. Music
The music I decided to use at the end of my trailer
was Tiny Tim “Tiptoe through the tulips.” I used this
as the song as I wanted something old and slow to
create the build up effect. This song is also used in a
popular scene of the horror film Insidious(2010)
