 What is politics?
 Concern with power,the power to make decision, to control
resources, to control others people’s behaviour and to control
their values.
 Politicians choose their words carefully because they believe in
the power of language to influence thoughts.
 Man by nature is a political animal/ man as a political animal
rendered a gift of speech
 Language is political from top to bottom
 Language is inherently political using for
nationhood,propaganda, standardization etc.
