5. The concept of laser level has been around since
at least the early 1970.
Land levelling is precursor to good
agronomic, soil, and crop management
practices.
These levelers are implements consisting of a
blade acting a small bucket for shifting the soil
from higher to the low-lying positions.
These practices on traditionally leveled or un
leveled lands leads to water logging conditions
in low lying areas and soil water deficit at
higher spots.
6. These are five major components.
I. Drag scraper/ bucket
II. Laser transmitter
III. Laser receiver
IV. Control box
V. Hydraulic system
7. Drag scraper/bucket: The drag bucket can be either 3-
point linkage mounted or pulled by a tractor. This
system is preferred as it connect tractor hydraulic
system to external hydraulic by the 3-point linkage
system.
Laser transmitter: The laser transmitter mounts on a
tripod, which allows the laser beam to sweep above the
field.
Laser receiver: Is a multi directional receiver that
detects the position of the laser reference plane and
transmits this signal to the control box.
Control box: The control box accepts and processes
signals from the machine mounted receiver it display
the signals to indicate the drag buckets position
relative to the finished grade.
Hydraulic system: The hydraulic system of the tractor is
used to supply oil to raise and lower the leveling
bucket.
10. To set the laser transmitter out side the field
on tripod stand.
To connect the laser land leveler with draw
bar of tractor
Connect the cable of laser receiver, hydraulic
system and power cable with control box.
Power cable connect with battery system.
To set the laser receiver on beam.
To connect the hydraulic pipe with hydraulic
cylinder.
To connect the hydraulic pipe with hydraulic
system of tractor.
11. Laser land leveling is leveling the field with in a
certain degree of desired slope using a guided
laser beam through out the field.
The system includes a laser-transmitting unit that
emits a laser beam that travels in a perfectly
straight line.
Beam received by a laser receiver that sense the
light and sends signal to a control box.
To activate an electro hydraulic valve which
raises and lowers the blade of a scrapper and
eliminates all undulations tending to hold water.
12. The laser land leveling will helps farmer to
save at least 25-30 % irrigation water.
Reduce green house gas emission.
Decrease the time to complete task.
Easy to operate.
Save fuel/electricity used in irrigation.
Increase nitrogenous efficiency by 7%.
Increase in field area by 3.5%.
13. The change in over vision of future agriculture
in relation to food nutritional security,
environmental safety and globalization of
markets demand improving resources-laser
leveling is evidently one of the ways by which
we can address these issue to a great extent.
