• Actinomorphic: The flower which can be cut into 2 equal halves by any plane e.g
Poppy
• Zygomorphic: The flower which can be cut into 2 equal halves by only one plane
e.g Ocimum
5. General descriptive term of flower
• Bracteates: Bract is present
• Ebracteates: Bract is not present
• Pedicilate: Pedicle is present
• Sessile: Pedicle is absent
• Complete: Both calyx and corolla are present
• Perfect Flower: bisexual flower having both stamens and carpels
• Imperfect flower: A unisexual flower either stamens or carpel is
absent

• Pistillate: only carpels are present
