2. 1) What is your idea with regards to the 3 categories of community?
Each categories of community has its own unique characteristics, dynamics, and
challenges.Understanding
the categories of community can help individual s and organizations better to engage and
connect to others. These categories of community can make individual learn the different
values, culture, share interest and goals by acknowledging the differences of each community.
2) Discuss the importance of understanding the dynamics of community
immersion.
Community immersion allows individuals who are not familiar with the people and communities
where they will work immerse themselves in these settings. This gives them the opportunity to
reflect on their assumptions, attitudes, and the knowledge base of their profession and to gain
cultural competence. The importance of understanding the dynamics of community immersion
is it will give an idea to us as a trainees to understand the realities of life in that particular
community where we are assigned. Our purpose is to help solve a certain problem. For example,
in Barangay Biao there are lots of children who don't know how to read or even identify what
letter is that and what its corresponding sounds. So, we as a BEED we should have conduct a
community immersion to help those children and understand the factors why they have this
kind of behavior and then let's us guide and assess them to reach our goal as success .
3) What is the relevancy of the immersion part of the NST Program as
discuss in R.A.9163.7?
According to RA 9163, also known as the National Service Training Act of 2001, the relevancy of
immersion has served as the mandate and core of recognizing the role of youth in nation-
building. Young people are trained to prepare themselves in case of an emergency where our
country needed a helping hand to defend the security of the state. It introduces students to the
importance of civic consciousness through the discussion of nationalism, patriotism, social
responsibility, servant leadership and good citizenship values as pertinent concepts in
participating in community service. It promotes activities contributory to the general welfare
and betterment of life of the members of the community. It also aims to make students realize
their vital role in nation building by advancing their involvement in public and civic affairs
through awareness and participation in different advocacies and community service activities
based on their capabilities.
3. 4. Why would trainees need to study the behavior of the people in and
that which composed the community of which they serve?
To serve a community well, trainees should learn how its people act and what they value. This
helps them offer services that suit the community’s specific needs and preferences, making
their work more effective. Also, by knowing how the community works and relates, trainees can
earn the community's trust and respect, which leads to better communication, cooperation,
and results. Trainees need to study the behavior of people in the community in order to adjust
themselves and have a good relationship with the people there.
