2. WHY DOES IT RESONATE WITH YOU?
• As someone that experienced the whole
pregnancy journey just recently, I can say
how important it is to promote and
improve maternal health globally.
Pregnancy is a woman’s most vulnerable
time where she will go through a roller
coaster of emotions and she will have to
face many struggles especially during
labor and delivery.
• For my pregnancy, I had a great support
system from my husband and family. I
also had a great set of doctors and nurses
that guided me all throughout especially
during labor and delivery. This made
everything easier for me.
3. HOW CAN YOUR INTEREST BE APPLIED
LOCALLY?
• Improving maternal health reduces the maternal deaths that
occur each year not just locally, but globally as well.
• Improving maternal health can be improved by giving effective
sex education for all knowing what goes on with your body and
knowing what to look for to prevent any long term
consequences is vital.
4. WHERE CAN YOU MAKE THE GREATEST
CONTRIBUTION?
• Developing countries that have the
highest maternal mortality rates are the
ones that need the most educating
surrounding maternal health. They need
easier and better access to prenatal care.
• Women’s health center and the public
health office are two places that can make
the most impact especially training every
one of its employees to learn how to
communicate with pregnant patient
effectively, making sure each patient has
access to everything they need as well as
focusing on educating patients
5. IS THERE A UNIQUE FEATURE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
THAT CAN BE UNIQUELY APPLIED TO THIS
GOAL?
• There are several pregnancy apps that
pregnant women can use to track their baby’s
growth during their whole journey. These apps
let them know what is being developed during
whatever week they were in. These apps
informs women of the tests, vaccines, and any
other thing they suggest to do during
pregnancy. There are features that notify you
and remind you to take your vitamins and lets
you know what you can and cannot eat.
• These apps also have an open forum where
you can post a question and concern to get a
feedback or a suggestion from other women.
• These apps include What To Expect,
Pregnancy+, BabyCenter, The Bump and
many more
