1. SWOT Analysis
Strengths:
- One of the strengths I had last year was that I had a good amount of detail in every
piece of work I did.
- Another strength of mine was that my time management during the last project we
had done was a lot better than it had been the rest of the year which helped as it
meant I was in no rush to do any pieces of work last minute like I had been doing
before.
- A strength of mine was that I made sure to plan my interviews in advance so that the
interviewees knew the date and times that I wanted to interview them.
Weaknesses:
- A weakness of mine would be that I am not very good when it comes to teamwork as
I struggle when it comes to comprising on ideas. I am a very headstrong person which
is why I work so well independently however this is something I am working on either
way as I know its unlikely that I will be working alone at a job in the future.
- During the first projects in the year, I really struggled with my time management as I
was still trying to find my feet when it came to this course. I struggled getting
everything done seeing as I still didn’t know how much needed to be done to achieve
the grades I wanted.
- As well as this my technical skill was something I thought to be my weakness when it
came to the five marking criteria however, I feel like this is because I was
inexperienced with the hardware and the software that we were using to film and
edit. This, however, is something I am sure will be much better in the following year.
Opportunities:
- One of the opportunities I will have this year is the opportunity to begin networking
with others within the media industry. This is a great opportunity as it means that I
will have contacts within the industry if I decide to pursue a career within the industry
once I am finished with university or if I decide I don’t want to go to university at all.
- Work Experience will also be another great opportunity for me as I want to find a work
placement where I am given the opportunity to write something for a company. This
would not only be a great experience for me seeing as I love to write, but also this
would be a fantastic addition to my personal statement when applying for a journalism
degree.
- Future Journalism Stars is something I may take part in given I have the time seeing as
this would be something that would boost my personal statement when I plan on
applying to jobs or universities.

2. - Create Britain is a great opportunity for us this year as it means we have somewhere
that we can clearly display our work for those within the industry to see.
Threats:
- Time management may be an issue for me this year due to the fact that we will not
only be doing the B2 project, which is fifty percent of our grade, but we also have B1
to do. As well as this we may be doing side projects on our own to potentially add to
our showreels.
- Given I get a job this could be something that could get in the way this year as having
to make sure I have enough time for all aspects of my life is something that is vital.
