• Manage the Retail Leadership Development (RLD) series for the division which trains all new Assistant
Store Managers. Plan, forecast, develop and implement program changes and revisions within
budgetary constraints. Trusted to pilot the RLD 1 Program for the company with 11 RLD 1 trainees now
ready to enter RLD 2. 46 RLD 2 trainees have completed the program at a pass rate of 98%, with 11%
of RLD 2 graduates completing the Store Manager Selection process.
• Lead the Mentoring Program. Design up to date materials to assist with tracking activities and
evaluating progress. Create quarterly workshops, constructed and maintained a mentoring database.
Since start of program, 31% of mentees have been promoted.
• Serve as the Co-Chair to the Division Diversity Advisory Board (DDAB). Reorganized the board in 2008
by creating sub-committees and assisting in the election of officers. Created and implemented by-laws.
Hold members accountable for deadlines and assist in the development of programs. The DDAB under
my leadership has completed 30% more programs annually than in previous years.
• Manage the External Store Manager (SM) and Assistant Store Manager (ASM) Training Programs.
Adapt the training, create supplemental materials, and monitor each manager. Maintained completion
rates of 100% and 98% respectively.
• Supervise the Pharmacy Trainer and assisted in defining roles with LLD and the Pharmacy Department.
Restructured the communication between departments and monitored the rollout of Pharmacist and
Pharmacy Tech Training.
• Supervise the LLD Generalist in Dallas. Trained to compile and record all web-based training
compliance for the division. Mentor to create the WIC EBT Train the Trainer workshop, which has been
implemented in other Safeway divisions.
• Managed web-based training (WBT) and compliance. Created a tracking database, training materials,
and mentor workshop that is currently used in other divisions. Communicated with and gained support
from Senior Management. Reviewed updates to programs and served as a member of focus groups on
new programs. 90% compliance on programs managed.
• Led the rollout and continued training of Safeway programs such as Sales Champion, Meat Cutter,
Person in Charge, Privacy Awareness, and many others.
Human Resources Development Generalist January 1999-October 2002

• Merged the Department Manager Training Programs from Tom Thumb and Randalls. Implemented
daily checklists, revised workshop schedule, and met budget requirements for program.
• Researched training needs and created on the job training checklists for all clerk positions, developed

• Hired and led Field Trainers for the Houston and Austin markets. Created expectations and assisted in
