• The ideal goal of a manufacturer is to realize ‘Zero cost, Zero time, and Zero
inventory.

‘zeroes.’” For example they have minimize the amount of C02 emissions
throughout the entire business process.

11. INITIATIVES FOR ECO-CONSCIOUS FACTORIES
• Panasonic is working on green factories in order to cut down environment
impact caused by manufacturing. Each factory develops a variety of plans for
reducing environmental impact in production activities focusing on C02
emission, total waste generation, water consumption, chemical release
substances and transfers.
• The green factory assessment under this system factories evaluates
themselves on one to five scale across 19 environmental activity item
classified into 6 groups- Emission Reduction, Environmental Performance, Risk
Reduction, HR Development and Management.
