2. Age, gender and class
The age gender for this opening sequence are young adults starting from
the age of 16 onwards, this is because in this sequence you can see a
character who is mentally unstable and this is because she believes that
she is a nonfiction character. Both genders will watch this movie and this is
because both the genders like to watch psychological movies so it can be
watched by both genders. The thriller movie is mainly based on a girl
named Alice and as a child she hasn’t been stable, when watching the
opening sequence at first you can see that it is about this girl who is quite
innocent and shows that she isn’t a troublesome girl, this will mainly attract
the females and this is because they are most likely to watch it. The class of
the movie is mainly shown as both and this is because there are two
different characters that start off and Alice is seen carrying expensive
items and the stalker seems like an everyday normal type of guy.
3. Why would they watch your film?
What would appeal to them?
As our audience is both genders who are aged 16 onwards, this thriller
opening sequence would appeal to the and this is because its different to
any other one due to the fact that when it starts off you can hear a nursery
rhyme and you don’t normally hear songs like this in a thriller movie.
The music is very appealing as it creates suspense and its quite unique.
4. Why would they watch your film?
The main reason why they may watch our film is because its not the usual
thriller psychological movie, its quite different and this is because of the
types of characters we have used and this shows that its unique. When I
had done my research I had asked people what they preferred and
about 70% of the people said thriller psychological and within those basis
we had created our opening sequence.
5. Audience feedback – positive
The title was very effective
Nice representation of the character Alice
The range of different shots used had made the audience wonder as to what is
happening and it didn’t divert their attention
The location was really good and this shows that the graveyard was an effective place to
film.
Tension was built up throughout the video.
The bird’s eye view was good throughout the movie and this is because you are able to
see a range of things and not just focus your attention on one main thing.
had all watched everyone's opening sequence as a class.
The good things about this opening sequence were the different shots that were used as
this had made the sequence very effective.
6. Audience feedback - negative
The title was very effective
The music overlaps too quickly and this meant that you weren’t really able to focus on the opening
sequence.
Some of the shots didn’t really flow well.
More continuity
Not stable enough
Names popped up randomly, they should have been the same duration
The camera was jogging whilst the characters were moving and this wasn’t effective because the
characters didn’t look serious
Alice looked into the lens many times and this shouldn’t have been done, the problem with this is
that the character shouldn’t allow the audience know that the character is looking.
There needs to be more action going on
The whole opening sequence was of Alice walking and running, should have been more dramatic.
