1. Phandom, We Need To Talk…

…not really… but kinda… *sigh*)

2. The Problem
• So, there’s been a lot of in the
phandom. Sometimes we get WAY too hard on
Dan and Phil or each other and cause… well… shit
storms.
Like, when they don’t make a
video for a while…

3. More Problems
• …or when they change their appearance in
some way…
• Or when they delete tweets…
(which, you know, is kinda their decision.
Would YOU want anyone to read your
facebook posts or tweets from 2009??)

4. Response
• Some people in the phandom will try to express their
own opinions or get involved in the drama (either for
or against Dan and Phil) … and then they get hate for
it.
• That is very not okay.

5. Another Problem
• But sometimes, we start demonizing each
other, insisting that there is a “good” part of
the phandom and a “bad” part (or even that
there are “good” and “bad” PEOPLE in the
phandom)

6. What Team?
• The funny thing is, everyone seems to think
that they are on the “good” side of the
phandom

7. False Dichotomy
• Y’all are silly!
• There are no “good” people or “bad” people in
this phandom
• We ALL have bad days, we ALL have our stupid
moments, and we’ve ALL fallen into the drama
trap before (don’t lie to me)
• (That being said, telling someone to kill themselves is NEVER okay
no matter how crappy your day has been, okay? People are
IMPORTANT)

8. Why I Support Phandom 2.0
• Okay, so, Phandom 2.0…
• First of all, you are welcome REGARDLESS of your
stance on “phan” (they’ve said it like, 500x, guys. Pay
attention)
• They are NOT excluding anyone who wants to join,
EXCEPT for people who want to hate on other people
(because hate is not cool, kids)

9. Contract
• Think of it as a contract.
• The only thing that makes Phandom 2.0
different than the regular phandom is that you
have to apply.
• You have to say “I promise not to spread hate
while/whilst I merrily enjoy the videos, radio
shows, fanfics, gifs, artwork… etc. (and quietly
ship or do not ship Dan and Phil)
• Simple!

10. In Conclusion
• I think that Phandom 2.0 is a good idea
• I don’t believe that it is segregating the phandom
into “good” and “bad”… it’s just signing a contract to
say that you will avoid drama to the best of your
ability
• It’s a reminder of why we entered this phandom in
the first place…
