10. The J sound is a voiced sound because you use your
voice to make the sound. The CH sound is a
voiceless or unvoiced sound because the vocal cords
do not vibrate when you make the sound. Instead,
you release air out of your mouth to make the
sound. ... You make the J sound by releasing the air
