Attracting Young Audiences to Radio Dramas Through Streaming Platforms
1. Feedback Agree/Disagree Response to feedback
How will I attract young
audience if they don’t listen
to radio dramas ?
Agree The feedback made is fairly
true, it will be hard to
attract a young target
audience to listen to a radio
drama. Therefore, to attract
the young audience to listen
to my radio drama I will
distribute the drama on
YouTube and iTunes
because many young people
use these sites regularly and
are more likely to listen to
my drama if its available on
YouTube and iTunes.
Primrose- age Disagree Its already pretty clear and
evident that Primrose is
younger than Katniss, first
of all by her voice, and
second of all Katniss’s
protective behavior clearly
implies that Primrose is
clearly her younger sister.
Legal and ethical disagree Although Primrose is
younger than Katniss it does
not change the issue of
violence because in the
original adaptation one of
the tributes Rue went into
The Hunger Games from
another district and she was
the same age as Primrose
and here was still violence
in the original adaptation. In
fact, Rue dies in the original
adaptation and therefore in
the new adaptation there
wouldn’t be any legal or
ethical issues raised about
primrose and violence.
Cliff -hangers Agree In the feedback a concern
was raised on how I am
going to ensure a cliff
hanger on each episode.
Here is one example in the
reaping scene it will end on
the cliffhanger where the
2. first tribute is about to be
announced. Here this will
keep the audience
interested as they would
want to know who has been
selected and will want to
watch the next episode.
Representing Primrose
through music
It is hard to present
primrose visually as it’s a
radio drama. But if we were
to represent Primrose
through music then it would
be sweet and soft music
because she is a sweet and
innocent and a young
character.
Potential for further
development.
Similarly, as mentioned in
previous posts to foresee
how successful my
adaptation could be, we
could mention its potential
to develop further. For
example, the radio drama
could be adapted into a
game where people can
complete a story mode
which plays out the whole
story including being in The
Hunger Games itself, and a
free play mode where they
can go back to collect
certain items and unlock
things a bit like the marvel
Lego games on Xbox etc.
