new script for five minutes of primrose adaptation

2. Scene 1, location-interior 11:00pm
1. Non Diegetic sound: sad serious music
2. Katniss: The reaping, a process where two tributes are
selected for each of the 12 districts, 1 boy and 1 girl.
Each tribute from each district is put in The Hunger
Games, where they fight for their lives. Faced by not
only 23 other tributes but animals, diseases and other
unimaginable weapons that test you not only physically,
but emotionally, and psychologically.
3. This is all filmed and monitored by the people who work
for the capitol and president snow. Its all for a TV
show, to provide entertainment for the glitz and glam for
the rich. While the rest of us suffer seeing our loved
ones fight for their life, suffer under the poor working
conditions we have to endure everyday, with no hope of
change, or happiness.
4. Non Diegetic sound: a little lighter music
5. But maybe there is hope, maybe things will change, the
capitol may realise that violence isn’t the answer, that
instead of dividing us, unite us, there is no rich and
poor, just equals who contribute equally to society.
Maybe they can see the true beauty in hope and happiness
alone and not be obsessed with power and being rich. But
who knows, we can only hope.

3. Scene 2 Location- exterior, 9:00am
1.Diegetic sound: lots of people travel along the gravel.
2.Diegetic sound: sound of soldier’s armour and weapons
clanging. Diegetic sound: heavy breathing, and small
whimpering.
3. Primrose: Katniss, this isn’t right, forcing innocent
children to fight for their life. So young and were tainted
with the fact that we have killed somebody, somebody’s
child, sister, brother. I can’t do that, its not me, its not
who I am, and all for what, a life of a celebrity, to
provide entertainment to the capitol.
4. Katniss: Prim you’re right, this isn’t right, everything
about this is wrong and inhumane. The capitol wants all the
control, and this is how they show they have got it, by
crushing our future, our hopes and dreams of peace and
happiness. But Prim listen up, I will protect you, I will do
everything I can to protect you and ensure your safe. And
keep hold of that little bit of hope, because one day it
might grow.
5.Primrose: I think that’s all we need, hope, and if we show
everyone that there is hope, maybe things can change, maybe
if we show our innocence and human nature they may change,
treat us better.

2.Diegetic sound: travel comes to a halt, Diegetic sound:
women heels walking comes to a halt
3.Effie (clears her throat): Welcome, welcome to the 74th
Hunger games, may the odds ever be in your favour. Well
ladies first.
4.Diagetic sound: Feet shuffle, people cough, snivel.
5.Diegetic sound: heels clacking, shuffle of paper, opening
of paper.
