2. • The first activity I completed in the second rotation was my practice magazine front cover.
• I decided to focus on Hip Hop and clothing brands that link in very closely with Hip Hop itself.
• The name of my magazine was ‘Hip Hop Society’.
• I took lots of inspiration from Highsnobiety, which focuses on all of these elements too.
• I added several photos to my magazine cover, with a headliner below each photo.
• Each photo was in black and white, as I thought the correlation between them and the very basic layout worked perfectly
together.
• I thought that the route I took with my magazine was very different to other companies but I hope that different will
appeal to people in the strange way it did to me also.
• But to be on the safe side, I applied a competition on the front of my magazine, in the hope this would persuade people to
read my magazine
• Something I could improve to my magazine cover would be adding more persuasive features to go along side my
competition.
• My magazine can be found on the next slide:

4. • The second activity was to complete a two sided magazine page which could include information of our own choice.
• I decided to focus on football to prepare myself for the final production, which will also be focused on football.
• I used Adobe InDesign to create my magazine. This was the first time I had used InDesign, so I had to learn the basics in
order for me to complete the task.
• I used several different features on InDesign, including Paragraph, Character, Text Wrap and applying text and photos.
• I came to terms with these features relatively fast, and was comfortable using them all after a couple of attempts.
• I chose to use the story on Kazuyoshi Muira signing a new contract at the age of 50, making him the worlds oldest
footballer.
• The reason I chose this story was because it is a record breaker and I believe almost every football fan is intrigued by
footballing world record breakers.
• Something I would like to improve on in the future is applying an exciting background to go with my work. I had an issue
applying it this time as all my photos were very pixilated and didn’t look very professional.
• You can find my design on the next slide:

6. • My practice website was themed on Travis Scott, a musician in the rap industry. I decided to design my
website on Travis Scott as it allowed me to use several different features I haven't or wouldn't of expected
to use, such as linking my website to iTunes and adding my own playlist with a sale price. I also decided
to chose this theme as it links in very closely with another website called HighSnobiety, which has an
incredibly clean and smart looking website in the hope I could replicate mine to look the same.
• Overall I was very happy with my practice website as I expected it to look very poor and unorganized with
it being my first attempt, but thankfully WIX guided me through the whole way to ensure it looked exactly
how I wanted it to. It was also very beneficial as after designing this website, I decided to take a similar
route with my final website, in which I am also very with also.
• One improvement I would like to apply to my website in the near future is to update the tour section,
which states Travis hasn't got any upcoming tours, yet when looking on other websites it says he has
several tour dates coming up.
