2. RESEARCH AND EXISTING
PRODUCTS
During the process of creating my ancillary
products, I made sure I adhered to the
conventions of a digipack and the conventions
of an advert for the digipack. I learnt these
conventions from existing media products that I
had found from my own research and through
band sites where they uploaded images of their
digipacks. I feel that these conventions are
important in producing successful print media
products.
3. DIGIPACK
One convention for the digipack I learnt from
researching existing media products is how
the digipack must include a strong image of
the artist/artists on the album cover so the
audience can identify who the star or stars is.
This is shown in my digipack through the
two shot of Katie and Luke together showing
they are a duo.
Another convention I learnt is how the
digipack must have strong synergetic ties to
the advert so when the audience sees the
advert they can also then identify the album.
This creates brand identity for the group
“Ocean Rise”
4. ADVERT
One convention I learnt that is essential
for the advert for the digipack is ti
include a strong image of the star/stars.
This is so the audience can come to
associate the name of the band with the
people in it, tis creates a brand identity.
The advert follows the convention of
having synergy with the digipack through
he use of font “Ocean Rise” and “Empires
Fall” On both products are shown
through the same font called
“BrokenDreams” this creates synergy as
well as creating brand identity. I found
out about the importance of synergy
through my research into existing
products.
