2. Mind Map
Merch store:
Clothing line
Posters/prints
My own designs that don’t
include characters that are
known because I want my
designs to be original as it gives
it more credibility to the
clothing and not just copied
designs
Posters and prints of the shirt
designs.
Clothing will include t-shirts,
hoodies, long sleeves and more
Black white red colour schemes
with some other designs being
fully colourful.
My target audience is teens as it
will mostly fit their style. The
gender I will appeal to more is
males as one of my designs will
be a dragon which goes more
towards the male side than the
female side
My brand will be like 100thieves
with all the hoodies having
different designs. This is because
Poster:
Multiple posters of all
different genres.
Would use well known
characters in the posters
Would all correlate to each
other this is so they look
more organised and can be
bought for the certain
game/ movie instead of a
bunch of random images
slapped together
Posters like mario
characters and sonic
characters and more
Multiple colours that the
character is
May have black and white
posters
Towards male teens as they
are more into video games
than any other group
Trailer:
Trailer for a superhero movie
Female superhero as main role
Male villain this will be done
with a male and female actress
Show little part of fight scene
and dialogue. this will be done
through recording with a green
screen to edit later on. dark
colours to make the character
seems more gloomy and sneaky
to achieve this I will add
shadows to each frame using
photoshop to make the battle
scene darker
More of a batman vibe being in
the night target audience would
be male teens as they enjoy
superhero movies more than
other groups of people
3. Mind Map
Merch store: RIOT clothing
Going to be my own clothing line so nothing is copied from other company's and no famous characters will be
involved in it. This makes the brand mine and shows that I don’t want to copy another brand/ already made
product
Different designs or different clothing
Clothing includes:
T shirts
Caps
Long sleeves
Hoodies
Socks
Some of these designs will have different colour variants but not all will have. Having more colour varients will
give more variety and draw more of an audience. Each design will have at least 2-3 colours that go well together
this is so there isnt too many colours but still stand out. Colours like red black and white will be used as the
primary audience is male teens these colours are seen as male colours but will also be fine for any audience
Having so many clothing options gives people more of a opportunity to buy something. If people don’t want to
buy socks but wants to buy a hoodie then they have that option too.
Accessories:
Phone case
Stickers
Posters
Prints
These accessories would work towards the final product as its more than just a clothes store and give more
options for people to buy and will gain more customers
The software to make these products will be two apps. The artwork will be
made in an art program called krita and the final product will be finished
in photoshop as im more familiar to krita and prefer doing the artwork in
5. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated colours/images
styles/fonts/tone/mood
• Yes as there is a repetition of the designs. As my deigns are going to have a wolf and a
dragon I gather image references for them to use to make my product easier. Gathering
these gives help of how I want to position them on my t shirt and if I want to add a
background towards the images and what background I should put.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• Yes as it will help my with placing of lettering or images. Doing this will make my
products look more professional and placed correctly. Placing the colours there is
helpful to stick towards a certain colour scheme to make the t shirts not overdone.
Sticking to these colours makes the process a lot easier as im not thinking of what
colours should be involves in it. My logo towards the product will be a J as it stands for
joshua and it is my clothing line. The Ali a logo is very similar to mine but a different
letter and colour. I have chosen the colours as I think they will mostly fit with my
primary audience being male teens and appeal towards them the most but will also
have colours to fit more audiences like female teens. White and pastel pink merge well
together making a good design
6. Informal Proposal
Current Idea
Concept My own merchandise line by the name of RIOT.
Clothing and accessories will be sold with multiple different design
Type of
products you
would make
Clothing:
• T shirts (unisex, short sleeves, 3 different designs, multiple colour options)
• Long sleeve (unisex, 1 design, 1 colour)
• Hoodies (unisex, 3 different designs, 2 colour options)
• Caps (unisex, 1 design, multiple colour options)
• socks (unisex, 1 design, multiple colour options)
Accessories:
• Phone case ( 2 designs, multiple colour options, iPhone 8 +, Huawei p20 +,
Samsung galaxy +)
• Stickers ( 3 designs, colour options for certain designs)
• Posters and prints (4 designs, 1 colour option)
Having all of these designs being apart of the clothing line gives a lot of options and
makes the clothing more available to others. The products would be an online store
therefore available to more people that may not be able to get to an actual store
What you will
need to make
them
A drawing app to make the designs for the shirts
Computer and drawing tablet to make the drawing easier/better and to make the
design clearer and more professional.
7. Choices
Discounted ideas Reasons for not choosing this project
Trailer for a super hero movie:
This was going to include a female character as the main
superhero against a male villain. The trailer was going to show
dialogue then cut to a part of the fight between them
• Making a trailer seems like a cool idea but its something I
have never done before and is very inexperienced with. Doing
this would take a lot longer than the time limit I have and
wouldn’t be able to look good for a major final project. My
skill level when making trailers is zero to none and I wouldn’t
have enough time to be able to learn enough to make a good
enough trailer for the FMP. As for equipment I wouldn’t be
able to find any to be able to make the project in the time
frame we have. The time limit would restrict a lot of
opportunities to make the best out of my product. This would
making editing the product quick and messy, acting rushed,
trailer too short and overall isnt something for a final major
product
Posters:
Would be a bunch of different posters ranging from any genre. That
being gaming, my own idea/concepts and others. The poster would
mostly be my own designs but have others.
• Making posters feels too simplistic for a major final project. As it is
something I have done before it feels like it is too easy of a target
and a quick way of getting this finished. Although it would be easier
to do this instead of merchandise I would rather push myself and
make an overall better project. My skill level when making posters
is very high as artwork is already something I do. There wont be
enough creativity as it would be characters that already exist. i
would have the correct equipment as I only need a certain amount
of resources. As for time I would only be able to make a certain
amount of posters in that limit to full potential. The planning also
take a lot longer to make to have the right idea and go through with
it. Overall I would need more time to create as many poster as
possible and I don’t redeem it good enough for a final major
