2. Matter and its properties
Matter -> made out of atoms (tiny particles).
Properties -> Colour, Odour and Taste.
Volume -> Describes how matter occupies.
Density –> Is the amount of matter
in a volume.
Mass -> Is the amount of matter
in a object.
Hardness -> Is the scratch-resistance of a solid.
Solubility -> Is the ability of a substance to
disolve in other substance.
Thermal Conductivity Ability to conduct or
transfer heat.
3. Wath types of matter are there?
Types:
Pure substance -> Is made up of one type of matter (Silver).
Mixtures -> Made up of two or more substances.
Homogenous -> Cannot see individual substances (Air, sea water).
Heterogenous -> We can see individual substances (Sand, salad).
4. There are different methods to separate the substances.
Filtration -> Using a filter.
Evaporation -> The liquid evaporates and leaves only
the solids wich crystallise and form salt crystals.
Sieving -> We use a sieve to separate solids of different
sizes, such as pebbles from sand.
5. Forces and their effects
Forces can push or pull acts to a objects.
Can make thinks: Move, Stop, Speed up, Slow down and change direction. Can
also change shape.
Non-Contact forces
Magnetism -> Is a force of attraction or repulsión caused by magnetic materials.
Gravity -> Attracts objects. Planets have a stronger gravitational force. Astronauts
flout because don’t have gravity in the space.
Contact forces
Friction -> Is when two objects rub against each other. Acts in opposite direction to
move.
Buoyancy -> Is the ability to float. Is an upward force acting in opposite direction.
