1. @WiseinWV
Wise in WV tweets mainly about sexual health amongst the younger generation. Wise in WV tends to
be an advocate for condom use to avoid STDs and Pregnancy. Wise in WV also gives statistics about
STDs to put into perspective how easy they are to catch. A few of the retweets were interesting
YouTube videos on sexual health. Birth control seems to be a major topic addressed by Wise in WV as a
lot of issues stem from teenage pregnancy. Wise in WV also has a few tweets about various events they
attended. Finally, it seems Wise in WV posts from time to time about other social issues such as voting.
Overall, Wise in WV seemed to be pretty informative about sexual health which is something I feel
everyone needs to know about. Wise in WV also seems to be very supportive of the younger
generations decisions and encourages a “if your going to do it, at least be safe” attitude which is cool. I
believe Wise in WV definitely is a must have follow for high school and early college student.
@Ci350class
CI350Class (or Harold) seems to vary with what’s posted. A lot of the Twitter feed consisted of
technology being posted for use in the classroom. An example was a tweet talking about Super Social
Media App. CI350Class also posts a lot of articles talking about how to use technology in the classroom.
A lot of the technology articles seemed to be about social media as well. CI350Class also posted
personal opinions on recent events which makes the Twitter feed seem more “human.” Alongside the
personal opinions, CI350Class retweeted a few YouTube videos with one being Jared Leto shouting
Venezuela which I thought was cool. Lastly, CI350Class was used by Harold to interact with students
and ask questions outside of class. Overall, the content from CI350class varied and I enjoyed most of
the content posted. The only concern I had with CI350class were the countless updates from an
exercise app that interrupted other content.
@StumpTeacher
StumpTeacher’s Twitter feed is focused around the advocacy for student’s potential. In one tweet,
Stumpteacher posted that adults seem to think students aren’t capable of being competent and that
adults need to have faith in the students. Stumpteacher is also very appreciative of the people helping
out in classrooms which is nice. StumpTeacher seems to retweet things showcasing students work
which shows that he truly cares about what students do. Finally, tweets encouraging students to do
their best without solely relying on others help (like the teacher) are common. These types of tweets
also include student hygiene which is something I feel teachers should push. Overall, I enjoyed reading
the content posted by StumpTeacher. I feel his views are insightful and encouraging to students. I feel
teachers should aspire to be more like StumpTeacher in how they view students – students are our next
generation and need to be given the encouragement that they CAN succeed.
@MZimmer557
MZimmer is similar to Stumpteacher in the respect that he posts a lot about how certain technologies
can be used in class. In fact, the majority of MZimmer557’s feed consists of various articles written
about technology. The articles cover items like technology comparisons, new technologies Zimmer
thinks are cool, and how to use certain technologies in fun ways. Zimmer also seems to like sports as he
has retweeted multiple items relating to sports. Overall, I didn’t enjoy Zimmer’s feed nearly as much as I
enjoyed some of the other feeds as I feel the feed was more robotic and less personal than the others.
2. However, Mzimmer557 offers some valuable information on technology in the classroom which is nice
so his feed isn’t all bad.
@starwars
The feed I decided to follow for my personal choice is the official Star Wars twitter feed. Starwar s
posted advertisements for the new film which got me excited for the movie. Starwars also posted a lot
of give aways to reward fans. Starwars posted a lot of real life fan shots of various Star Wars characters
coming to real life (costumes). Starwars posted scenes from their animated series as well. Starwars has
a lot of fan interactions and also posts random quotes/wisdom/etc for followers to like. Overall, I really
enjoy following starwars because the material constantly changes and stimulates my Star Wars fan self.
I think production companies that are active on social media make for a happier fan base as can be seen
from the fans of Star Wars interacting with the page.
